Sadly, it doesn't even have a base discount on Steam right now so I suspect it won't be on sale.

It's 33% off at GOG but not Steam (if that matters) and I don't know if they'll discount it further during their summer sale. It used to go on sale all the time but I think they changed publishers or something.

And a new day begins. Bioshock: Infinite, Child of Light, Batman: Arkham Origins, CoH 2, The Banner Saga, CS: GO, Kerbal, Endless Space, and XIV: ARR (lol).

Actually somewhat interested in Child of Light, I heard good things about it.

Endless Space wasn't without its charm.

Colonizing and terriforming planets was fun stuff, and the research tree was full of interesting choices. The exploring part had some decent Easter eggs to find as well.

As for the combat, it had pretty animations, but the game was lacking any real tactical decision making (despite their obvious attempts to force it in). It was pretty much a one-size fits all kind of thing. MOAR LAZERS! basically being the answer to all military problems. The enemy AI would throw a monkey wrench occasionally as they 'learned' from the tactics you chose, but it was rarely enough to necessitate a major change to your fleet makeup. Politics was pretty poor as well, and each different faction was basically one-dimensional and very predictable.

I think I payed like $11 for it, and got about 120 hours of play out.

I almost bought endless space yesterday for 66% off. I have a handful of wishlist items on sale just for the general that I'm watching for higher during daily and flash sales.

I'll probably buy endless space now for 75% off. Good thing I waited.

All the Disney/Lucas LEGO games that they refuse to put on sale are pissing me off though. Indiana jones and Star Wars are the only ones I don't have on steam yet. Disney needs to stop being such little ******* with their PC games.

I think I've voted for the winning team every time so far so it'll cancel each other out.

I bought fallout 3 and New Vegas, but without any of the DLC... if I actually play them I will buy the DLC, not much point in buying DLC if I don't get into the game... plus, that way it was under 5 bucks for both of them.

Jade Empire: Special Edition is $2.99 at GOG. Supposedly it runs a lot better than the Steam edition (which I hear takes a lot of fiddling and tweaking to get going).

I've never played STALKER.

If STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl goes on sale, you should buy it. It's my favorite FPS for atmosphere and brutality.

Assuming you just don't have it backlogged. If you do, play it already. I highly recommend the "Complete 2009" mod (think now it's called Complete 2012).

I just checked; it's still 2009, they never finished the 2012 update even though the ModDB page says otherwise.

I had a lot of Wallet Funds from selling cards. I finally drained my Steam Wallet, still have more slowly trickling in. About 50% through my card games, and have a couple bucks sitting on the market waiting to sell (A couple cheap foils and a dozen cards or so).

Games on my "To Buy" list that I'm waiting to see if they drop in price at all:

Capsized (80% off til the 30th.)
Violett (70% off til the 30th.)
Memoria (66% off til the 30th.)
Aarkalsh: Legacy (60% off til the 30th.)
Adventure Time: Finn and Jake's Epic Quest (50% off til the 30th.)
Lili: Child of Geos (50% off til the 39th.)

Most of them have high enough discounts that I won't feel bad about having to pay their default price at the end of the sales event if they don't go further on sale. I did end up buying Endless Space (after luckily not buying it yesterday for 60-66% off).

I'm really looking for a game just like Freelancer. I remember playing that on my computer in college and really enjoying just flying around space, jumping between galaxies, upgrading my ship, killing space pirates and looting them, finding good deals in one system and selling for profit in another system. I haven't found a good replacement for that game yet. It was easy to pick up and play around with, controls were simple, game play simple, no big learning curve from what I could remember.

I do remember a short lived MMO called... Space Cowboys(?) Something along those lines. You piloted a space ship, collected upgrades, etc. I think one of the first zones was a world with giant wasps and bees, I remember spending hours flying around blasting these giant killer wasps, attacking their hive, for some reason those giant creatures seemed to carry ship component upgrades. It was shut down, and then I remember hearing another company had started up something to take it's place but I forgot about it too...

I swear every Community choice I have picked has lost. The last 3 had at least one game I was interested in, but no people vote in the games that have been on deals earlier this week or a million times in the past.

Edit: Also the flash sales have been terrible. I mean there is a few games that I would grab but the % off wasnt high enough. Steam can keep its 33% off BS we want 75-99% damn it !

If you see anything mention it here and get a couple extra votes to help swing it your way. Not like it's going to be significant but every bit helps right?

I finally got it working, after a lot of fiddling, and it ran terribly. So I'll attest to that. I mean, I can't comment on the GOG version, but I wouldn't recommend the Steam one.

The current sales seem legit. I think I'll buy Child of Light. Not sure which other titles I'll grab, but Banner Saga and Endless Space both look solid. And Bioshock Infinite, which I still don't own.

Zam.com needs to just give like a dozen regular posters the "deputy" ability to ban posters with 10 posts or less or something since they obviously don't have the administrative staff to handle all these spammers in a timely fashion Smiley: disappointed

With great power comes great responsibility.

No matter how weak the banhammer. It'd be abused.
