And the purpose of the program isn't to recruit random people you don't know, it's for you to actually bring in friends who will then subscribe and give both of you a bonus.

Posting the link on a GAMING forum isn't going to do anything--we all know about Rift, and there are plenty of people we KNOW from around here that play. If it comes down to using the RAF program, we are going to go with our friends (or at least fellow posters) over the random people that wander on in just to blatantly advertise for their own benefit.

So here's a question for you--do you think it's rude to come into an online community and, without any kind of introduction or attempt to be constructive within the group, post a self-serving link? Well, if you don't, many of us do.

Haha, your computer sucks!

@ the OP: People around here (and other forums) tend to distrust someone that they've never heard of with a low post count that's posting links. Too many people have been bitten on the *** with a virus from clicking on links from a low-post-count person before. That's why some people might seem a bit "hostile".

I wasn't trying to be rude, I was simply letting people know that what you're posting is legit.

Now stop crying.

Yeah I understand, about people not trusting me because I'm new, but dont lie, u were trolling me lol and never cried i just valiantly defended myself against the Zam forums bullies :P no problem with that! =D

The link isn't only self serving, i plan to help these players ho take my link and actually play (hence why i put my server and faction) so no, i don't think its rude. Since i cant get any of my friends to play Rift because WoW has stolen their souls i thought i would offer a chance to make a friend, get some perks, and try a really fun game :) It would be one thing if i presented it in a rude or disrespectful manner, but i didn't. I greeted everyone and gave an explanation of the program and offered any help, as well as offering a review to anyone who doesn't know about rift. These forums are public and i have never been disrespectful so no, its no rude.

Whats rude is claiming that since im new i have a restriction about what im allowed to say and what im not. I never said someone ISN'T allowed to post something in the post i created, i simply asked them to be courteous and respectful. I dont really wanna pull the freedom of speech card but your trying to back me into a corner here.

Anyways,Have a good day everyone! XD

Its not a garbage thread. I am simply offering anyone who wants to try the game rift a chance to have a title, a guild, and a friend summon. if you dont like my post or dont intend to use my link, then you have every right to completely ignore my thread.

If the situation were reversed, and you needed help with something and offering benefits to helping you, then another person came in told everyone to ignore you and only help them instead im sure u would be elated to hear that right?...

All I ask is that everyone be respectful and courteous to one another (including me please even though im new to your site) while posting in the thread I took the time to type and post.

Thank you all!
:)

0I don't mean to haze, but no.

1Disagreed, it's rubbish. I'm not sure why the quality of the forum isn't my concern.

2If we are going to have RAF requests, they might as well be consolidated in a single thread.

3I've never posted this kind of thread, because they're rubbish. The situation has never been and will never be reversed.

Freedom of speech doesn't really fly too well here. Obviously you have the right to say anything you want but they can say anything as a rebuttal. Also since you are new here I should point out that even though quite a few of us have high post counts they mean nothing unless they are an admin (when it comes to saying what you can or cannot do). Admin's are purple and lack the green arrow of joy or red arrow of pain.

I said it before and I will say it again, get to know people. Post in other threads with positive posts. Being new on the block can seem daunting but in time you will find your place. In time people will be more than happy to join you in Rift. Until then you are going to have a bit of trouble finding someone that will be willing to join you.

Lol alrighty, well my post is out there, people can use my link and im done responding and you have successfully chased me off your forums. It's not worth my time, talking and trying to reason with you guys just to be nice it's impossible lol

At least i was never rude and was always kind, even when almost everyone wasn't nice, u can keep arguing and making people feel unwelcome, I'm sure you'll find alot of friends that way -_-

Good site Zam admins and thank you for anyone who was nice to me!! :)

Trolol. I like this thread.

Cleia, most of the people here are long-time posters and know each other from other forums, which is why they appear to be rude to you. They're not, it's an inside joke thing.

You're also in the 'General Video Game Discussion' forum right now. The description of this forum says: 'Use this forum to discuss any games not covered by specific forums.'

Since Rift has its own forums, you might want to try there. Perhaps in the 'New Player/Guild Forum'.

Good luck.

Bunch of xenophobes I say! Welcome Cleia. I wish you luck on your petcheivements and whatnot.

I liked Rift for a bit. But I made the mistake of falling in with a "server first" guild. Rushed and gobbled up all the content and got bored.

Rift is now on my "I might play it again sometime when I am not already burned out on it list".
