We know the basic mechanics of most of the races, and we also know the Sylvari are being reworked.
As of now, which race do you plan on rolling first and why?
As for me, I will be rolling Human. I sometimes do a little RP and my character I plan on bringing over from GW1 is already a Human.

I'm sure I'll have a human early on although I'm probably going to make four characters within the first week of play even if they don't all start advancing very far. I'll probably end up with a Norn and Sylvari as well with the 4th being possibly a 2nd character of one of those three races.
I am a bit of a min/maxer so it will probably matter what kind of stats and skills the races get and how they will combine with the professions best. So until we get more details everything is up in the air for me.

For me, I'm immediately going to roll sylvari, norn and human characters and I have no idea which I'm going to like first. I have never been able to get into characters that are distinctly UNhuman looking.

I can't really say for certain until we see the results of the Sylvari overhaul, but at this point I'm likely to roll up a Charr first. I'm very curious to learn more about Charr culture, and frankly they're just too awesome looking to pass up. I also assume the Charr will be spending a lot of time in Ascalon as well, which is just icing on the cake!
On the other end of things, I'm least likely to try out a Norn. I like the Norn style and lore OK, but I have a feeling I'm going to find their snow-covered early zones oppressive. :) Also I'm not particularly interested in shapeshifting (from what we know of it), so their racial skills don't interest me that much...

I'll probably make a human first just for nostalgic purposes, assuming something else doesn't catch my eye at character creation. Regardless, I suspect my main to be an asura elementalist so I may make an asura first. *shrug*
