Nintendo DSI question :: World of Warcraft

I bought my niece and nephew each a dsi xl for christmas under the impression that they would be able to use pictochat online to talk to eachother only to find out that this is not the case. (They live in different states)

Does anyone know if there is a program that works like pictochat but allows online chatting? Or maybe even a game that would allow this kind of function?

Any input would be appreciated.

Apparently Clubhouse Games offers a PictoChat-like program that works over Wi-Fi, but it's a couple years old so I'm not sure how available it is. I don't own a DS, so I am not really familiar with any other titles/options, but that was just from a quick search.

I believe there may be some homebrew applications that could do it. But they require some grey-area pieces of hardware for your DS/DSi/XL thatyou may or may not feel right about purchasing and using.

Apparently one even lets you voice chat. I have never used it though, so I don't know how well it works.

It's not that the DS couldn't, it's for the kids' safety.
