Dragon Age Origins - I'm Stuck in Redcliffe castle, help?Follow

#1 Dec 06 2010 at 1:12 PM Rating: Decent
Only apparent way seems to be thru locked door. Cleared every room. Almost missed the Blacksmith's daughter. She was in last room I checked. Looted everything. Nothing sparkles. Thought maybe I was suppose to force daughter to open door? But seems silly - game wouldn't strand me in castle without any clue. Help?

A. Try Gamefaqs for things like this.

B. We'll need more details about where you are in the quest to help. Have you gone into the basement yet?

The Recliffe quest is: Secret Tunnel (see Jowan) > castle (find Blacksmith's daughter) > basement > courtyard > main hall of the castle via front door.

If you haven't entered the basement yet, there's a good chance you just missed that door thinking it was the path back to the dungeons.

I've been everywhere. Basement too. There are two doors that are locked to me. One says I do not have a key and the other seems to need a rogue.

did you kill that first miniboss? I feel like he drops what you need, but I'm not sure.

I had this problem too on my most recent play-through. Here's how I solved it:

1. Go back through the basement entrance (where you found Jowan), and out to the town.

2. Locate and steal the Ring of Infinite Wisdom from the Blackhand gnoll tribe camped behind the tavern (but make sure not to kill the Chieftan, or you close off a whole series of side quests!).

3. Use the Ring of Infinite Wisdom to open the Forbidden Door, and enter the alternate reality. There, you must hunt down and kill your the evil "mirror" versions of your party using the charge-up spin attack with the Master Sword.

4. Once you've killed your evil dopplegangers, loot the quest items from their corpses, and journey to Ironforge, where you must trade the four quest items and 50gp to King Bronzebeard for the key that will open the door in Redcliffe Castle.

Wait a minute, is this DA:O or WoW we're talking about?

Anything is possible, having never played DA:O I had no idea.
