Do you want those games to be used with only the kinect, and no controller at all? because most of them (exceptions being ME3, DA2 and Road Rash) would be awful with just the kinect imo.

I think they'd pretty much have to have the option.

Right now, I don't have space for Kinect (Xbox is in my bedroom therefore I don't have space to prance around like a loon). So I'd have to play those games with the controller.

But I'd love to fire up Fifa 12 online with a friend via Kinect. I can just imagine it being great fun...

having no control of the actual movement of your players would be fun? It'd be like a big game of foosball.

This. I don't plan on getting one. Just looks like a gimmick.

I dunno. My parents have a Wii and I enjoy playing on it. But the graphics are kinda bad, and most games have no substance.

Plus even from the 5 minute demo, I knew I liked Kinect. It was just... fun.

I really don't find motion-gaming interesting. I'm intrigued about where it might go, but nothing about any of its 3 current incarnations does anything for me, really. And of the three systems, Kinect is probably the one I least see me using outside of a party situation.

I'm not gonna lie, I kinda hate the Wii. My parents own one and I have some games for it that were okay. But frankly, I've never enjoyed the motion-sensing aspect. Brawl and Mario Kart are both better without motion-sensing, and both games are worse than their predecessors. I'll admit I didn't play Zelda on the Wii, but I was perfectly happy with it on my Gamecube.

The only times I EVER use the system is when it is a party situation. And I don't love it then. The poor graphics, gimmicky games and poor motion-sensing are just meh. I spend more time infuriated that the controller seems to think I'm pointing it 45 degrees away from the screen when I'm right in front of it...

The reason I can't get excited about Kinect is twofold, mainly.

1. It isn't something I can use when I'm exhausted after work/school/seeing friends. When I'm playing games, it's generally because all I want to do is chill. I don't want to be jumping around in front of the TV. When I have that kind of energy, I'm generally out doing something or working.

2. I can't figure out a way that would allow you to move your avatar that isn't incredibly awkward. Even if they program it to watch your feet to figure out if you are staying still/walking/running, there's still the problem of turning. You can't turn your head without looking away from the television, so you'd need to turn your body opposite the direction you want your avatar to go (while keeping your head facing the TV). And that's just awkward.

Move is slightly less problematic in the first sense, but just as bad in the second. Until I can use motion gaming from my couch without sacrificing the feel of being able to move my character then I'll pass.

For the people who have purchased the Kinect, which of the exercise games would you recommend? My mom is wanting to get the Kinect and the 360 for exercise purposes but I've never played any of the exercise games, so all I can do is go on reviews.

From Amazon UK reviews, Kinect Sports really gets you sweating. Especially the athletics games.

Personally I don't think the actual workout titles will be that great. The boxing/fighting/sports games should do the trick as well.

But like yourself, I'm going on reviews...

In all seriousness, if you want major exercise without making it feel like a chore, go with Dance Central(i skipped the fitness games myself since this seems to be more then doing the job for me, i break a sweat pretty quickly which is a definate sign its working)

major workout and fun as hell at the same time

otherwise, im sure all the fitness games are about the same otherwise, they are just tailored to different methods

I love Mario Kart on Wii. And I played Zelda. It was pretty fun too. I never bought it and now I'm having trouble finding it. I'll just wait for the next Zelda I think.

I thought Smash Bros Melee and Mario Kart Double Dash were both easily superior to their Wii versions. Actually, I HATE Mario Kart Wii for one easy reason--blue shells. These are the single most infuriating thing that has ever been added to a game. That ability for the system to switch you to last place (at higher difficulty levels) JUST before you would have won with 1st is BULL. They can be a fun item to use in group play. In single player it's crap.

Brawl isn't nearly as bad as MK Wii, and they did some things better. I think its adventure mode, for instance, is superior. But they slowed down the speed of battle a ton, which sucks. The smash orb thing was interesting at first, but its actually crap when it comes to balance. I mean, some characters have a smash that is essentially a KO for others on screen. Others have one where you are lucky if you hit anyone else. And since you gain the smash by hitting the orb, which can spawn far away and behind obstacles, you have no counter to it. I DO like that some items aren't so powerful now (like the hammer), but I didn't think that was a huge issue before because you got to pick what you wanted to drop in a match.

I played Twilight Princess on the gamecube and rather enjoyed it. I had friends who said it was better on the Wii, and others said it was worse. But most said it was easier, so I'm happy that I went GC.

My friend has one and it's quite a bit of fun to play some of the games if there's a bunch of people and you're just looking for something different to do. I'm not sure exactly what games they were, but it seemed like a mini-game frenzy sort of thing with a Dodgeball type game, bowling, long jump, etc.

I've never played a Wii so I can't tell you how it compares, but all I know is my friend threw a party and after a couple of beers, everyone was having a pretty good time and it got everyone involved since there were quite a few different games and everyone liked making fun of the goofy pictures it took of us during gameplay.

I can see the potential of this, but again, I can't judge how much of a Wii knockoff it is, but it's nice that there's no controller involved.

I know you have your reputation to uphold but you're over-playing it.

It’s not just any old website made up about it, it’s the established site of the company making the game along with all their other sex games.

5 minutes spent in Google looking at the various news reports on the game from respected mainstream sites would have also shown it wasn't a joke.

The company intends to release it for the PC with kinect support for anyone who hacks theirs. So it's still being released, you just can't play it on the xbox specifically.

I bought one for my wife, and I can say that it works very well. Especially if you play, well, anything on the Wii for 30 minutes and then try out the Kinect for 30 minutes. This side by side comparison should sell you. I'm not really into the whole "getting up and doing stuff when I don't have to" thing, but if I had to pick one based on reliability the Kinect would win out. I haven't tried anything except that safari whatever game that came with it, but if they keep on it, it could be worth your cash in the future.
