amnesia: dark descent. i missed the sale, picked it up the next day for $10. it was mentioned on the best of 2010 show of every podcast that i listen to. holy moly this is the most intense game i've ever played. there were two occasions where i was frozen in my chair thinking, "it's not real, it's the game. it's not real, it's the game."

i had a bug and had to reload an earlier save. going through the storage room was not any easier the second time through.

i went ahead and bought penumbra (developer's previous game) and am installing it now.

great news! amnesia's back on sale at $6.80. also, dead space is the same price. i might have to get that on steam, seemed pretty cool on the ps3 but i just can't get into the dual stick control thing.

Man, I wish I hadn't tried so hard to spoil my family for Christmas. I don't dare get any of the bundles on Steam, no matter how sweet the deal is right now. I'm kinda pissed nobody asked me about games this year.
