Lately my favorites folder on Youtube has become filled with "covers" of classic video game songs played (mostly) on guitars.
This one is a must see for anyone who loves Ocarina of Time.
They also did A Link to the Past.
Here's one I love from Chrono Trigger.

You can type in just about any game and get at least someone attempting to recreate the music from it. It's all very nostalgic.

I absolutely love Video Game Music, especially the stuff that has been redone etc. I bet over half my mp3 collection is home made video game music.
There are TONS of midi files out there that sound really good. Midi isn't a very good sound format for songs with vocals in them, but they make for excellent video game music. You might check out: [link=video game music]http://www.vgmusic.com[/link] they have tons of video game midis.
