Gran Tourismo 5Follow
Loving this game so far. Playing with my Logitech Driving Force GT wheel. They've added levels to the game, each race nets you XP and as you gain levels, you can buy faster cars. Neat concept 
i can think of 4 people on alla that are interested in racing sims. I was watching some reviews and didnt realize that the majority of the cars were 'non-premium' and didnt have nearly the same level of detail as the premium cars. ie no in-car cam.
Forza had the level up system. Except instead of exp they did it on the amount of money you'd made. More money = more dealerships interested in working with you, and more reputation which unlocks new races.
It's not a new concept.
GT5 probably is amazing. The first 2 were (I haven't bought any since then since I don't own a PS3). But... once you've played one, you've played them all...

Not really a racing sim guy. I like my racing games a bit more arcadey. That, and unless you buy one of those stupidly overly expensive racing wheel controllers you can't really play for ****. An analog stick just does't work for real world physics.

Yeah that is my primary road block with buying this, i have to justify a $190 purchase instead of just the 60 dollar game. I went for the wheel when i bought forza and it was a great investment, and thats the only game i use it on. If i get the wheel for GT5, at least it will also be usable on PC. Gonna have to wait on the Christmas bonus.
This one is much different than the previous ones in my opinion, but I'm a huge racing sim fan so there is that.
You a correct, the wheel is the only way to go, but it makes it so much more immersive.
Never played Forza, I heard it was pretty good though. No Xbox and nothing really could tempt me to buy one.

I loved GT3, it was the first game I got with my PS2. Was pissed that I couldn't transfer my Escudo Pikes Peak to GT4. It was truly a king among cars in the game, fastest car I owned.

Just found this on Kotaku, it's a coffee table that can be turned into a racing cabinet complete with steering and pedal setup. Only costs $6,700.

Loved that car
Outside of a few jaring issues, certain challenged not ebing consistent with disqualifications on bumps, and certaing raphics being blocky, it was worth the wait. Im loving this game, and I also like the fact you can send 1 car a day to a friend. Great for those 1 off races where you need something very specific but the Used dealership doesnt have it.
Mario Kart more than covers my rare desire for a racing game. I know they aren't the same things (but that's my point). I have no interest in real world sims. I tried the Blur demo (cars + weapons = hmmm?) but thought it was awful. And I have issues with games that require peripherals. (Though I suppose this doesn't REQUIRE one, it just sucks without it).
