Here's a condensed version of some of what we know now. I'll be adding to this periodically, linking to wiki articles and such, and as we get new or updated information. Enjoy!

    Release & Beta:

What is the release date for GW2? - Unknown at this time. ArenaNet will announce the date when they are ready.

Some online retailer is listing a release date, is it true? - No, just a placeholder.

When will beta start? Will it be open or closed? - We don't have any of these details yet.

Will GW2 have a subscription? - No. There will be no subscription fee.

Will GW2 have microtransactions? - Yes.

Will there be a collector's edition? What will it cost? - We don't have any of those details yet.

    Character Creation:

What is the naming policy? - Characters can have names consisting of one or two words, at least three characters in length, and a maximum of 19 (including spaces).

Can we reserve the names of our Guild Wars characters? - Names will be reserved via Hall of Monuments, through the use of an in-game item. We don't have any further details yet.

What options will be available to us in character creation? - The character creation in Guild Wars 2 has been described as 'robust', with options for gender, height, facial features, hair, etc.

What are the classes/professions?
- We only know of four, so far: Elementalist, Warrior, Ranger, Necromancer. There are four more yet to be announced. There are no secondary professions.

What are the playable races? - Human, Charr, Asura, Norn and Sylvari.

What is the level cap? - 80. Levels are based on a fairly flat experience curve, meaning it should take you around 90 minutes to level up.

What attributes are available? - Strength (melee), agility (ranged), intelligence (magic), vitality (health), perception (critical hit chance) and willpower (energy).

What is the skill bar like? - The skillbar holds 10 skills. 5 of those skills are tied to the weapon you currently have equipped, 1 is an 'elite' powerful skill, 3 are additional utility skills, and the last is a self healing skill.

What are traits? - Traits are passive ability modifiers that can be gained by doing special tasks.

What do we know about armor? - Armor will be split into weight category, rather than by class. The categories are light, medium, and heavy. Soldier classes (Warrior, one unrevealed) will use heavy armor, Scholars (Necromancer, Elementalist, one unrevealed) will use light armor, and Adventurers (Ranger, two unrevealed) will use medium armor.

What weapons will we have available to us? - There are a number of weapons available, though there are some restrictions based on class. For more detail see the various profession pages on the wiki: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Profession

One-Handed: Axe, dagger, mace, pistol, scepter, and sword.

Two-Handed: Greatsword, hammer, longbow, shortbow, rifle, and staff.

Offhand only: Focus, shield, torch, and warhorn.

    PvE Gameplay:

What are 'dynamic events'?
- Dynamic events are the Guild Wars 2 version of questing. Instead of running around between NPCs collecting objectives and rewards you will see events occurring around you, that you will be able to participate in. See centaurs raiding a town? Join in the fight to stop them, and receive a reward if you successfully push them back. Dynamic events also occur in chains. The outcome of one dynamic event may spawn certain other dynamic events.

What are dungeons? - You will reach a new dungeon around every 10 levels you progress into the game. On your first encounter you will play through the dungeon in 'personal story' mode, reflecting it's significance to the plot and world around you. Future visits to the dungeon will give you an explorable mode, in which you are free to adventure as you please. Completing dungeons will reward you with tokens, which you will be able to trade for rewards.

Is Guild Wars 2 a persistent world, or instanced? - 'Personal story' segments of the game will be instanced, to preserve the impact of your choices. Dungeons will also be instanced into 5 man zones.

    PvP Gameplay:

What PvP formats will there be? - Guild Wars 2 will have structured PvP, and World vs World PvP.

What is structured PvP? - 5 player teams, competitive atmosphere.

What is WvW? - Weekly rotating match up between three worlds, on large open maps with objective points to capture and siege mechanics.

What is there for casual players? - In addition to WvW, there will be modes of structured PvP which allow players to drop in or out of games in progress, similar to the way public servers work in FPS games.
