I haven't been the most dedicated fan of the Halo franchise. The original was a fantastic medium for my college buddies and I to get drunk on a slow weekend, but I really couldn't care less about the story, characters, plot, or the player base of the online multiplayer.

However, a few of my friends just got Halo: Reach, which has replaced Modern Warfare 2 as their preferred online FPS. Therefore, I purchased it as well, and spent most of this past weekend merrily fragging away.

Who's got it? Whaddaya think?

I can't Reach out any information regarding the game, but you and your friends are aware that Black Ops is in stores now, right?
I just had to find a way to make the pun, I'm going to burn in hell...

See, here's the thing with Black Ops; it looks like it's MW2, with some new character models and a few new toys. And, seeing as I already own MW2, I'd feel kind of silly about paying $60 for what's basically just a re-skin.

Halo, on the other hand, I haven't owned since the original for X-Box.

I've had that idea about every Call of Duty so far, but yeah, noted. I'm hearing good thing about Battlefield: Bad Company 1/2 if you remotely care. I still can't help you on Halo, though. I haven't read much about that and I can't particularly say I care about the franchise.

That's an accurate criticism of CoD, but it's equally accurate for Halo, so I'm not sure why you'd bother making it Demea.

Because he owns MW2, but not a Halo since the very first.

It makes sense in a practical way, but not in a philosophical way.

And to add to this thread: At least Halo has story, and doesn't feel like a complete repackage. I lost all respect for CoD when they just shove **** off of the line to make more money, for example World at War. That was awful. Reach at least brought things with it, the new load out system, etc.

I like Reach a lot, and play it with my brother on occasion.
