I hate the xbox controller. It's large and awkward to hold. And I feel like the buttons are never where I want them. The 360's is better than the original, though.

Still, though, nothing's as bad as this monstrosity.

That controller had quite an inspired design behind it; you can tell from that peculiar shape. I'll commend them for trying to shoot the moon for a new ergonomic form. I didn't hate it (and 3+ years of goldeneye will get you acclimated to ANYTHING) but it clearly wasn't ideal.

Actually, the thing I hated most about it were the wicked blisters I got from that spike strip of an analog.

I'm a PS3 man, but aside from a few nitpicks with the xbox I find them largely equivalent. I made my choice based on familiarity and a few exclusives. I'm happy with my choice.

I'll try not to hate on the Wii too much. It's clearly got its purpose, and it seems to serve its target audience well enough. But I'm massively put off by their endless deluge of shovelware games and recycled series. I find it indefensible.

My biggest problem with the PS3 controller is the way they've done their wireless. If my controller runs out of juice, I have to sit three feet in front of my console while it charges and I play. And if the battery pack in the controller itself dies, you're screwed and have to buy a whole new controller. Doesn't make sense to me.

I actually prefer the PS3 battery to the 360/Wii. I don't like the idea of AA batteries and the rechargeable kits never work right... especially for my 360 where the poor design resulted in randomly shorting out my controller.

Of course, I usually have a couple of extra PS3 controllers ready to go if a battery does die... but that's just me.

Belkira, you do know you don't have to use the provided 3' cable right? You can get a longer one and use it instead, I use a 15' one from Newegg and I don't have any problems with it. Also you can replace the PS3 controller battery.

Wasn't aware of that, either. I need to stop listening to what people tell me and repeating them as fact. Smiley: glare

I'll be passing that link on to my "friend" now, thanks.

I don't mind AA batteries, but the Wii controller has a pretty bad design flaw. There is no way to physically turn the controller off. You must press some sort of select button, wait for a menu to load, select the option to turn it off, and then wait for it to do so. Oh, and sometimes the slightest tap will turn it back on. I end up simply taking the batteries out every time because it is so much faster, easier, and will not turn back on that way.

And not so much a controller issue as a console issue, but you absolutely must have both the Wii controller and the infrared detector to play any game at all. It's incredibly annoying when I want to play a gamecube game or a Wii game via the gamecube controller.

My roommate bought a charging station that sits on one of our tables by the couch, so even though he does use the little cable, it's right next to him anyway.

Personally, I just switch controllers. We have like nine of the damn things in the house, if you count the Move controllers.
