The real cost of F2P?Follow

#1 Oct 06 2010 at 11:54 PM Rating: Decent
I just noticed something. All the toons I raised before the F2P launch always got all the wound/poison/fear/disease cure pots they needed from drops. I never used all of them. Now I am raising a hunter and I have not seen a single pot drop since my 20's. I am 39 now and the pots I have on me all cap out at 30, so... I have to buy them from healers or from the Store now?

Come to think of it, except for quest rewards I am not seeing any Morale or Power pots, either.

Interesting, come to think of it I haven't seen a single effect removal pot drop anywhere since f2p went live.

I have seen plenty of morale and power pots drop though, although these seem to be much more scattered. Meaning I'm seeing as low as minimum 45 pots dropping off 65 mobs instead of it being almost exclusively 65 required pots on level 65 mobs.

On the flip side though, if like me you don't find most of the items on the faction traders all that useful, most trade 5 for 5 for appropriate level to when you can reasonably grind the faction morale and power pots. Even as a scholar, I almost always purchased my effect removal pots from the healer. It just saves a lot of time.

This was discussed alot in Beta for F2P, They were removed as part of the inventory revamp that changed alot of the loot drops and increased the stacks to 50. I don't remember the full reasoning, but I think it came down to most people didn't really use them for solo play til max level, except minor times while running lower instances, which prior to F2P were not run a whole lot anymore. Heck my burg never used em til I hit 60 (Cap when I finally got going) But my new hunter I always have a stack of wound and fear pots, and a few disease.

Levelling my new Guardian with my brother's Hunter, I've found a good amount of morale pots, but only ones for around 10 levels higher than us (at level 10). No status pots though.

I found plenty of pots up until 20 or so, but after that? They have all but vanished, and I understand that many do not use them until the very highest levels, but I do.
