So I'm looking for a new cooperative multiplayer game for my social group to take up. We used to play a lot of the same games, but now we've started to splinter so I'm looking for a new game we can hopefully all enjoy.
Games we've enjoyed playing together in the past:
-DotA, HoN, and some of us enjoy LoL.
-Team Fortress 2
-Diablo 2
-Left 4 Dead
-Various MMORPGs
-Battlefield Heroes
-Alien Swarm
A few parameters:
-PC
-Cooperative multiplayer for at least 4 people
-No FPS or MMORPGs unless they have some extremely unique and redeeming feature.

You could try Dofus. I played it with some pals and we had a blast. I believe it falls under MMORPG category, but I'd call it a MMO tactical, because it operates on square-based movement and attacks.
The art and lore is silly but still works, it's still believable. I'm not sure why, but I just love Ankama's productions. Dofus, Wakfu, the Wakfu TV show, etc. (Wakfu season 2 is coming out soon, wheeeee~!)

Minecraft. You and you friends struggling to survive against zombies and walking cactus bombs by mining/farming/lumbering? the surrounding area to build better defenses.

Minecraft would probably only be an option for them once some of the bugs got fixed (i.e. the invicibility bugs...).

I see Dofus advertisements all the time behind the backs of Otaku Magazines. It does look somewhat fun if your into 2d graphic oriented games. Otherwise, you'll be disappointed when you try it. I was going to try the game, but I heard somewhere that the game didn't include any kind of background music.
