You might as well just quit your job now before they fire you. Damn game is addictive. Anyway, right now I'm playing Red Dead Redemption. Great game, but I wish missions would stop ending on the complete opposite end of the map from the start of the next one.

Currently playing:

WoW:Cataclysm Beta
FXIII
DA:O

But barely making any progress with any of them, since I have very limited time atm. I've probably played xiii the most, since it's great for just clearing through a save point or two when you can't have an extended play session.

My husband really wants this game. Is it worth surprising him with?

Personally, I didnt care for Red Dead Redemption after the novelty wore off. And this is coming from a pretty big fan of Rockstar. Its a vast open world, sure, but its a boring vast open world.

/shrug, its just my opinion. The game was GREAT at first, when it was just cool to be in the wild west. There was one time where this prostitute (which you arent allowed to sleep with in this game, WTF?) was attacked by some guy with a knife, and i shot him in the face while he was on top of her. That was pretty damn sweet.

But theres not real variety in the horses, the guns arent anything spectacular because, well, its the old west. And if you got bored, going around causing trouble not nearly as fun as in GTA.

I've downloaded and tried a few games lately. First is DFO, it's kind of cool, if you like 2D side scrollers it's pretty fun, plus being online and free makes it all the better. I also downloaded but haven't really played League of Legends. I've never played DotA before so it's something different but would probably be enjoyable if I never actually played it. Other than that I typically just play WoW, SC2 when I get the money, I'm poor.

I picked it up used for my PS3 for about 35 dollars. It's worth at least that much. There's a bunch of side quests, challenges, mini games, and random events to keep you occupied when not doing the missions. If you just do the missions there's a good thirty hours of gameplay to be had. Double that if you're like me and tend to get distracted while exploring. It's not true that there is no variety in horses and guns. Horses come in a variety of colors, some are faster, some have more stamina, some have both (you have to pay for the really good ones unless you get lucky and find one in the wild). As to guns, sure they don't have rocket launchers and plasma rifles, but there are over thirty to choose from. One thing I will agree with is that it's pretty lame that you can't use the prostitutes in the game. They are everywhere and constantly propisition you, but you can't do anything with them other than kill them if want to.

The side quests are fine, i didnt see much point in doing them. Do the challenges do anything for you? I gave up on those too. The mini games i didnt care for and the random events were only so random. Hey theres a guy that had his horse stolen. hey theres a guy being held up by a bunch of bandits.

Ummm so? the crappy horses aside from the sickly ones arent that noticeably different compared to the uber horse. Only place it might make any difference is in a race. You can ride a donkey... wooo. GTA let you ride motorcycles, cars, pickups, tanks, garbage trucks, semis, helicopters, etc. even more in San Andreas.

yeah, and deadeye makes them all pretty pointless.

It was a good game for being set in the old west. But the problem is that the old west is a pretty boring setting.

Tangent: Gotta say im getting annoyed with how every game these days has regenerative health.

played a couple hours of borderlands with my brother. when i shut it down i felt like i was gonna barf. first time since ps1 DOOM in 1996 that an fps did that to me. googled "borderlands motion sickness" and got some .ini tweaks but just thinking about a big sniper rifle occupying that corner of the screen is making my eye twitch.

picked up armored princess from d2d for $6! after the absolute debacle that was the elemental launch i had to jump on it. the overworld looks like a shinier, happier wow and the dungeons kinda remind me of nwn. there was a nice orson scott card/ ender's game reference in the tutorial so it was worth all six bucks.

Bought Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep on Friday, it's keeping me occupied. I beat Uncharted: Drake's Fortune last week, and I'll be getting the Platinum trophy for that. Other than that, FFXI and I've platinom'd FFXIII.

Starcraft 2 is of course fun, if you're able to keep your cool when you have your *ss handed to you the first 10-15 games you play. Lucky for me, I'd wathced like 20 hours worth of starcraft on youtube beforehand, so I managed fairly well.
Dragonica isn't all that bad, but it's still one of those complete and utter endless grindfests. If you like Dragonica you're probably going to love Lunia, so I'd suggest starting with that.
Not to stray too much offtopic, playing Minecraft and Starcraft 2 at the moment. A lot of 'crafts', I know.

Just bought the ME2 DLC, Lair of the Shadow Broker. All the reviews for it are really positive, and I get to use Liara again which is exciting. Not going to start it quite yet as I want to get a little further in DA:O, but looking forward to playing it for sure.

played a couple hours of fuel on the ps3... holy crap that's like taking offroad vehicles through oblivion. 5000 square miles of paved roads, dirt roads, and wilderness with lots of decrepit homesteads to poke your nose into. kinda hit a stumbling block where i can't figure out what i'm supposed to do to get enough FUEL to unlock the new vehicles to unlock the new races and zones.

that and wow.

I bought uncharted 1 yesterday and am so far pretty impressed. Also got MGS4 and.... wow that game was not fun at all. Taking it back today and getting 3D Dot Game Heroes instead.

I'm taking a break from WoW until Cataclysm. Really nothing interests me in the game right now that could justify signing back up until then.

So I signed up for FFXI because the original game + 5 expansion packs were $15 online (plus a month free). Why not! It was entertaining for a while. Then I hit level 30, and wanted to roll a Blue Mage. After running around for about 4 hours and STILL not being done with unlocking the job, I've taken a break :-P

As I mentioned in a post a couple months back, I restarted Persona 3 FES. I'm now on the last month, getting close to completely finishing the game. It has taken a loooong time, but has been really fun. I have the sequel story ("The Answer") after... that's another 60 hours. Ugh.

When I finally finish those, some time in the new year, I have "Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories" on the PS2. I was SO surprised to see this released on Playstation, I didn't think twice in grabbing it. Plus it was only $20 at Wal-mart.

If I ever update my computer, I have Starcraft II. I doubt my current rig can handle it, however. Until then, I still play Mafia Wars on facebook, Minecraft on Singleplayer, and sometimes dabble in Kingdom of Loathing.

Yeah, 1 is very awesome too. Although 1 gets rather repetitive near the end of the game. Scoring headshots is absolute cake in that game omce you get some practice.

That aside, I may have to add Naughty Dog to my list of favorite developers. Uncharted, Jak & Daxter and Crash Bandicoot (whatever the hell kind of animal he might've been, he spins and kills stuff, AWESOME!) have been good so far.
