Should I get Aion?Follow

#1 Jul 28 2010 at 4:01 AM Rating: Decent
Hi, everyone. I have been thinking about joining Aion.

What does it have on WoW? Why should I switch?
I love the graphics and how fun the fighting looks.

Tell me why you play Aion! :D

Normally I would respond with praise of the game and tell you that you should join, but right now the situation is pretty poor in game. NCsoft screwed up pvp balance issues with the server merge and unlimited free server transfers. So, it's pretty bad right now. Low levels can't level without being ganked. One sided sieges are also happening. It's really bad. I would say to avoid aion for at least a couple months until NCsoft addresses these issues.

I have 4 80's in Wow and since I have started Aion I dont get back to Wow often.

The game is still a baby and there are glitches, however, the positives definitely out weight the negatives.

Gameplay is great.

PVP is there

PVE is there

Plenty to do at all times. I have two toons and between questing, instances, crafting and just exploring there is not enough time.

The PVP will be straightened out. Right now today NA servers went down at 12 am and will be down to 12 pm.

Also, though in LFG in this game instead of Trade channel in Wow sometimes lots of chatter but not like the chatter on Wow.

This to me is a good game.

Technically have not had really any problmes.

I am having a lot of fun but then where else could have all the above in one game.

Leveling is not easy, harder than Wow.

Would say Aion is a cross breed. Some FFXI style, some Wow style, some of it's very own original style.

I dont have many negatives because the game is so new. Things will unfold bettter and better. Why would they not want to improve on a major investment.

Seems to be a lot of Wow or ex Wow players in Aion.

Ok obviously gamedyy, and Gayle.. are fanboys.. The current state of Aion is imbalanced as hell.. On some servers Elyos completely dominate the Abyss hence if you go Asmo you are pretty much S.O.L .. and will get ganked 24/7 at level 20+ .. However if you are elyos you can abuse the crap out of the asmos ... After awhile though.. the asmos will start to avoid certain areas.. so you can't gank them anymore.. then it is on to farming miragents and the final set of gears... which could take something like 3 month of subscriptions..

I am still playing while waiting for FF XIV .. all I can say is.. avoid this game like the plague..

The guy that said this game is a baby.. is a dumbass.. This game has been out forever.. Something like 1 year..

Do you have any idea why they merged the servers? Because people were leaving in droves.. and still are.. give it 6 months time.. and all you'll really have left are hardcore Aion fans.. as all the other casual players have all left..

My initial experience with Aion was amazing. I was deeply hooked and was playing it almost 10 hours a day. But unfortunately there is a point in the game where you feel somewhat defeated and just don't want to go on any longer. The constant grinding and ganking is quite bad too.

On a positive note, I'm certain you will enjoy it the first month.

I enjoyed it till I stopped playing. Came back and I was banned. Turns out some ****** got my account and used it for RMT :(

They won't let me have the account back or reinstate it, but they said "You can buy another, and let me be the first to welcome you back!"

>.>

Just signed up for private server, not coming back :(

Like Final Fantasy XI, the game specs will be extremely high for the time, but in about 5 years, an average machine can run it on max settings with little to no issues. Tanaka also expressed interest in making a benchmark program available.
