How many of us plan to roll on PvP servers.

And furthermore, what does everyone hope to see in TERA PvP?

I will be rolling on a PvP server.

What do I hope to see? A good combat system, arenas with ratings/rankings, tourneys, and also an interesting political system with open world objectives and motivations to keep the scene healthy.

Not me. PvE all the way when I have a choice.

I plan to roll on a PVP server, and run around in a small squad of destruction at all times, this helps everyone learn to play in a grouped situation and when we do encounter other players we smash through them in a one on many situation or perhaps another group and just have a random battle in the middle of no where for the sake of having a battle.

As to what Im looking foward too come these PVP servers.

Without saying OPEN World PVP, let the weapons fly, each and every encounter is thrilling and just the momentary fight against a mob could suddenly turn into a bad situation of human by chance aggro.

Incentives, even though the reward for outright winning in a skirmish for most would be enough. Give me something that says Ive been doing a good job. With this ingame story line its easy to say that we have to work together but we dont have to like each other. Im sure some racial faction NPC will be more than happy to have me out and about collecting "parts"

Politics, how will it effect PVP and how will PVP effect it. An Guild Factions, guild names will become a large part of the game, be known for it, hated and or loved.

World Balance, will there be something for everyone even if you choose too roll on a PVP server? Im looking for perhaps a safe respawn area in some camps or major towns. Some way to funnel players into areas for their right level so that each group of the player base has room to spread it wings. An that guy you remember who killed you all the back at level 10, when you were fighting a named and got it below 10% then took ya loots, is suddenly not paying attention as your level ?? sneaks up behind em.

An most of all options, balanced options where everyone can achieve everything through a method of pvp.

Definitely going to roll on a PvP server. As to what I'm looking forward to, just surprise fights and the Valkyon system they have.

My question is more about the severs/client info.

Is Tera going to be built around a "common" upload stream equal to average European download rates or U.S east/west coast D/L rates.

Most likely I will roll on a pvp server unless I am handicapped by ping.

I am undecided. It depends on if I play with anyone, and what they want to do.

Pretty much the same with me. If my old arena buddy from WoW decides to head on over and wants to roll PvP, then I'd most definitely join him. Sadly, he doesn't seem all that interested which would mean PvE all the way for me.

And hello thar TERA forums

Deffinately PvP server if it's actually a PvP server (not like WoW pretend PvP servers).

I'm hoping to see plenty of open world PvP with no safe zones and some sort of item or currency looting system.

If its a PvP server, don't half-a** it IMO... Let the carebears PVE safely on their PVE servers.

I haven't decided whether I will play on a PvP server or regular server. I suppose I'll have to have toons on both. However I completely agree that upon joining a PvP server we should all agree to the no holds barred approach to things. If you don't want to have random confrontations at any given point in time, and you don't want to risk have some of your gear/gold/what have you jacked by another player then don't roll PvP. If you're up for all that and want to give some of it a try then PvP servers should allow an open and rewarding PvP combat environment at all times, excluding possibly whilst in town.

A decade or so ago when Ultima Online was in its early years I feel they had PvP right. Those who chose to PK lived outside the law and had to live outside of towns as they were flagged murderers, but nothing stopped them from their life on the run. Those who chose not to PK knew the risks they took riding the dark roads by themselves.

I'll be going pvp, I hope to see less instanced PVP and more open world group vs group and bounty hunting type PVP. The amount of emphasis they have put on instancing has really put me off, however.

Hopefully there will be enough interest in the open world for people to fight over spawns, quest hubs, or world bosses.
