My goal is to foster as much quality discussion, information, and debate about TERA as possible and be able to offer a diverse variety of perspectives and angles. I hope to improve on this by listening to, including, and responding to the community and addressing their needs.

Do you have a question that you want answered? Want to see a topic addressed in an article? Special ideas or requests for the site or content? Wish to share your own contributions? I absolutely want to know so please feel free to post.

One of the things that is lacking, is the amount of information about TERA PVE. While my guild is PVP orientated, it would still be nice to get some solid info in this area.

Any info on this?

Anything particular about PvE that you want to get info on? Just PvE as a whole is kind of broad.

What kind of raid environments will they have? How will PVP effect PVE ( can we PVP people trying to raid)? Do all the skills they listed - example the Lancer with the 90% block - be the same for PVE and PVP?

A lot of those things don't have specifics figured out yet, but since there will be both PvE and PvP servers, it's at least assumed that you would be able to PvPvE for world bosses on the PvP servers. Raid environments: world bosses, instances. Skills: no scaling known yet.

Thanks Chime!

I look forward to when they do give us that info! :)

Herro, I have no real questions that haven't already been asked. I'm just looking forward to TERA as a whole :D

I would also like to know if there will be any differences between all the races other then aesthetics. (I.E. Racial bonuses and so on.)

There are currently no racial bonuses aside from hitbox differences but it's been said in interviews that they're looking into potentially adding racial skills.

Have they decided weather or not to take the pvp initiation timer out?
that would chap my **** if they left it in.

I would like to know, if they are going to keep the idea that all races have access to classes. An information considering the flow of combat, will there be a way for melee to cancel skill and per-say set up a customizable combo system, will it have that much depth or is it like chess with set skills and full animations.

The PvP initiation timer was something that was experimented with on the Korean servers, and has not been on the Western servers, and they said they were looking into other methods of handling it. Currently some people are speculating a flagging system of sorts.

All races having access to all classes is still under consideration as of the last official news on it. And yes, melee does have a way to cancel skills. I have a few articles that goes more in-depth about it.

Sweet thanks. Also on a PvE group based question. Has there been any info on what we have to look forward to to group based PvE. If you looked at per say, Vanguard every level range there were a good number of dungeons and areas to choose from. You weren't just stuck so a single dungeon or area for a certain lvl range.

As you progress to higher levels, more zones per level range start to open up each with their own areas and dungeons.

As far as dungeons/instances goes I think there's roughly 13 known instances in the game right now. Level/lockouts aren't known currently, however.

There's "Group mobs" outside of instances (kind of like Elites in Aion), which are however solo-able by most classes with skill... So who knows how efficient grouping will be outside of instances.

They did say in a recent interview that aside from the starter area, anyone can go anywhere, at their own risk. I wonder if that is actually universally true. Also for those party mobs, if you can get a party to efficiently do a circuit of quests or grind out repeatables, it could be pretty good for leveling out in the open world too.

Sounds good.

Hoping there is a good bit of choice. Face it some days some of us don't feel like dealing
with the popular "hot spots" consisting of 50 people grinding out quests mobs.
Would be nice to say "hey this area is a bit overrun , lets try those other couple zones"
or something to that spectrum.

IIRC they're making one of the biggest fantasy MMO game worlds so I would hope there's some non "hot spots" available

my question mostly pertains to the melee classes, but i guess it can be applied to all classes. you mention that many skills are cancellable into a movement or block skill, but is the "combo attack" able to be cancelled into stronger attack skills? are the special skills able to be cancelled into other special skills?

also, hello to everyone!

Why the two removed posts btw? I've deleted them already but curious.

I haven't had the chance to personally investigate every single cancel opportunity for the different classes. I would say yes, there are some skills, but not all, that can be canceled/linked into another one without waiting for full recovery time. But I can't give you a list of exactly which skills can do it at the moment.

Related though, since blocking is near instant, you could immediately follow a block cancel with a stronger attack if you wanted to for skills which might not allow direct linking but allow for canceling.

sorry about the 2 "removed" posts. my internet has been a bit wonky. when i clicked to post the message i didn't think it went through (was not taken off "post reply" screen) so i hit post message 2 more times. well, lo and behold all 3 times i posted my message, they ALL applied. thanx for removing the clones!

thanx for the info too. definitely, makes me more interested in the depth of the combat mechanics!
