Getting into eveFollow

#1 Jun 02 2010 at 6:03 PM Rating: Decent
Hey all,

My friend and I just watched the Tyrannis trailer on Steam, and think EVE looks rad. We have played the trial version (pretty sure it was vanilla though).

Couple of questions:

1. Do we need to buy all the games (from original to Tyrannis?) or just Tyrannis?

2. How time consuming is Eve? We are both writing our theses for you uni, is it something we can just dive in and out of? I know that ship building takes a long time.

Cheers

Once you purchase your key, you will have access to ALL Eve expansions. Eve has never charged for any expansion pack...ever.

You can dive in and out, but you'll only get out what you put into it. Training takes real time. If a skill says 4 days to learn, it will take 4 days to learn. You train even while offline.

Running around the universe is great...until someone decides to blow you to smithereens. That will happen a lot, stay out of any system lower than 0.5 until you learn to pvp...

It really is the most enjoyable MMO I've ever played, hope you stick around, then maybe I'll see you if I ever have time to play.

Eh, ***** that. You don't learn to PvP unless you do go to lowsec. Rack up a couple mill skillpoints, slap together a stack of frigates of your choice, go to nearest lowsec system and have a blast. It's great.
