I posted this on the Jedi forum and I got no responses so I decided I would post it here. This is what I posted:

Im not worried about being a Jedi because I just started the game about a month ago, but Id like to know when the time comes. Are the holocrons something that will come up for me if I happen to master the right profession. IE, if I master CH will it tell me that I unlocked one of my Jedi holocrons if it is one? Or are the holocrons only something I need to find off Jedi sensitive creatures?

I kind of get what you are talking about i think.... No, you will not get a message saying you have unlocked one of your Holocron profession when you master one. I had two professions that i did before i started the Holo grind that counted towards my Jedi and i didnt know it untill i tried to use my 3rd holo and it was silent. So no, there is no message saying you have completed 1/5 professions towards Jedi or something like that. Also, keep those holocrons, its pretty much been said that they will give hints to the quests a player needs to get his Jedi slot unlocked. I hope i answered your question seeing as how i really didnt know what you trying to ask :)

Basically it works like this (as best I understand it):

When your character is created, the system picks 5 (or 6, I never got a straight answer and there is a lot of debate) professions that you have to master. It includes a certain number of basic and elite professions. You could techinically unlock it and never get a holocron. The holocrons provide clues as to what professions you have to master. As I understand it, if you have never mastered a profession, the first 4 holocrons will give you hints and any after that will be "silent".

Hey there...

No, If you happen to master a profession that was part of your path to Jedi, you will get absolutely no indication that you have achieved one of the requirements. The only time (as of right now) that you get any clue at all is if you actually Use a Holocron which tells you what profession you have to master. After you master the profession a Holo tells you, you still get no indication that it was a holo prof. Then you will have to find another holocron to get your next clue. If you use a holo and find your next profession, using another holo before mastering will just tell you the same prof. You don't need holocrons to open the slot, just to get the clues to help you along the path faster.

So plain and simply...
Holocrons = Clues
No Holos = Clueless

Good Luck!!

Oh so basically the way im going now, without using any holos. I would just keep going until I unlocked (by luck) the 5 or 6 correct professions and then it would open my FS char slot?

Edit:
And one more question, if I master a profession that was one of the professions I needed to get for my FS slot, if I revoke that profession to start another one will I lose it altogether? Sorry im not very clear with that I hope someone understands what I mean
