i post this thread to better gather information from my fellow players (and possibly others) regarding some key issues about the game:

1) the xp/profession system
specifically, which professions are the most fun/best and why, and what is wrong with some of the 'in extremis' professions (ones that are nearly never played, or that are played too often)

2) the coming changes regarding masteries and opening the FS slot (i realize this more belongs on the other forum, so ill keep it simple). ie, is this a better idea than professions or not, and why/why not? no need to go into detail about the FS thing, thats what the Jedi forum is for.

3) the 'balancing act' for imperial strength.
are rebels too numerous/etc? what can be done to make people more interested in playing on the "losing team", if it should be done at all

4) biggest pet peeves regarding:
any of the above,
other players,
the game universe in general,
etc.

i am aware that this is sort of a catch-all post, but i do that intentionally to keep 80 different threads regarding my personal inquisitiveness from flooding the forum

thank you for any/all feedback,
~Teo

*im honestly just curious to see if some of my beefs, interests are shared by people who post on these boards...sound off, fellow gamers*

i forgot something in the original post:

the "monthly" story lines. big subject imo.

thanks again,
~Teo

Well I will do my best to answer your questions.

1) the xp/profession system
Well I would have to say that the EXP gaining in this game for most proffessions has been fairly well laid out with each proffession having one specific tree that is difficult and long, and the other three going by fairly quick, if you consider any of these mmorpgs quick lol. The proffessions I notice around the most are Tera Kasi Masters, Master creature handlers, Master Rifleman, Master Doctors, and Master Commando's this may be different server to server.

TKM = this proffession deals out insane damage very quickly, get a good pair of virboknucklers, some buffs and armor and you are through this proffession in a couple days to a week depending how quickly you get the unarmed exp to learn novice TKA, and unarmed 4 from the brawler tree

Creature Handlers = This class is great for solo people like myself. I have two graul maulers lv 35 each always at my side and they ensure that almost all fights go my way :) You will see many CH's out there because of how handy it is, this can either be a fast proffession or slow depending if you hunt with nice groups or alone.

Master rifleman/sniper = I love being a sniper in FPS games but not this type. One reason you see many snipers in SWG is that the mind/headshots are the only shots you can't just heal in the middle of a fight. I was contemplating this proffession but I like being up close and personal.

Master Commando = this is a really fun ranged character in my opinion although the powerful attack for a commando is actually a fairly close range action I.E. 15m This class can set enemies on fire and they burn away fairly quickly.

Master doctor = this proffession seems to be popular due to the decent money made buffing and the ability to buff and revive others in your group.

An example of the template I am currently using and will be going back to after I finish grinding for the fscs.

scout 4-0-4-0
Master Creature handler
Brawler 4-0-0-0
Master TKA
Medic 2-1-4-1

I find this works well, I can deal large amounts of damage, heal poison, and disease. I have strong tanks with me all the time, and I can heal myself/pets when I must. All around fairly solid

2) Your second question really is dependent on who you talk too. I personally think the current way works fine, but also questing would be cool if you could do it solo.
I have spent along time grinding so it angers me they are changing it. My personal opinion is that they should keep mastering proffession as the way to become a jedi but make the way you find out what proffession to master via a quest. I.E. Yoda tells you how he requires rancor bile too make some sort of potion/elixir this causes special rancor X to appear somewhere and it is only killable by a certain weapon specific to a certain proffession whatever is applicable to X above.

3) The GCW is currently a hurting unit. Although on my server I would have to say I hear about imp raid after imp raid and hear very little regarding rebel raids. I think at-st's are enough motivation to get people to want to go imp especially once they get bored of being a rebel.

4) My biggest pet peeve with this game would be that I feel it is slightly incomplete. I feel the game world is laidout perfectly, worlds are really good looking, sound is amazing many creatures act realistic or atleast in a animalistic fashion but the empire vs rebellion war which is what this should be is lacking. They need to make it battles are wars to take over cities with certain cities I.E. coronet always being neutral.

Well those are my opinions and since I am at work I better finish them up
