I am just starting to craft weapons and armor and I seem to "fail to create" a lot. Do stats effect crafting ability?

According to Prima's official strategy guide the following stats effect the following tradeskills...

Weaponcrafting: High Strength (STR) and Dexterity (DEX)
Armorcrafting: High Strength (STR) and Stamina (STA)
Tailoring: High Dexterity (DEX) and Wisdom (WIS)
Jewelcrafting: High Intelligence and Charisma
Carpentry: High Agility and Dexterity
Alchemy: High Wisdom and Intelligence

Hope this helps

I read something when they first started with the crafting, it said something to the effect of, each class is generally better suited for one particular form of crafting. If you look at what Alterego wrote, you can pretty much figure it out. The stats that are your power pool will show you which craft your class is most suited for, which ends up making sense, i.e. a tanks power pool stats are str and sta, they are best suited for crafting armor which is a big concern of a tank.

i didnt know about the stats thing to craft , but the fastest way to craft is buying 99 mold , 50 crude iron or which ever level u are , and go on recipe and just click really fast the item (depends on what the mold is) it is a lot faster then experiment

wut do u mean by Carpentry and Alchemy ??

Alchemy is going to be left to the class or so i heard. And, carpentry will be introduced to the game later on(some time soon hopefully i need something new to waste tunar on) But carpentry will be the crafting of any wooden item bows arrows staffs possibly even wands.

The class thing having anything to do with crafting/stats is true if you look a majority of AC'ers are gonna be Warrriors, WC'ers are better suited as SK's/Pali's i believe. Tailoring to hlrs. Jewel craft to casters, and Carpentry to melees.
