FYI they are having a "return home" campaign this December. So at the very least you could log in and **** around with your friends. You could seriously do 2 hours of balyd runs, and be geared enough to participate in 90% of current content. You just need to run to a zone and your friends wouldn't even have to do any real work to get you started.

Obviously you wouldn't be the best but you'd be set to **** around.

So it turns out I am pretty terrible at Rogue Legacy. I'd like to think I am getting better...

In other news playing Agarest: Generations of War is a lot like knitting or sweeping a large warehouse. Especially with the DLC which makes you an OP broken PoS. Kill the endless pointless battles to get to some endless pointless plot text. Not sure why I kinda like it. I do like sweeping though, it's kind of Zen.

I've been trying it out. And have been determined not to touch the free DLCs that came with my prepurchase. I noticed that my weapons I started with were 90-110 attack power. I could upgrade them using the EP points I earned to around 135. But all the super weapons that came with the DLCs were 800-900 attack power.

But from what I gather, Agarest is just a dating sim with some really basic tactical RPG elements. Woo the girl of your dreams, knock her up, have a kid, repeat process as the offspring for a few generations.

If only NIS would bring Disgaea to the PC... that'd be fun. I'm a sucker for Tactical RPGs. Mix that with crazy itemization and growth and Disgaea is great. My only problem with Disgaea is the lack of a story interesting enough to make me move forward instead of just go off fighting the same stuff over and over. Final Fantasy Tactics A2 so far is the best Tactical RPG on my list. I'd love SE to make another Tactics game, taking what they've done with A and A2, but making one less childish and cartoony.

Yeah I almost restarted without the DLC weapons. But I'm in second generation now and just don't want to redo it. I have eventually learned some stuff about how to link attack and move your people around the grid better with the linked combo's. I'm almost not as OP now towards what I think is almost the end of gen 2 so it might eventually balance out after this gen.

I think in the steam forums people say that by the 3rd generation the DLC weapons aren't that OP. I like the linking system. And the game overall reminds me of the Valkyrie Profile game for the DS.

ESO made me fire up Skyrim again though. And I am home for a short weekend after 36 days out of town, so I had a backlog of TV shows to watch. Just finished my last episode (it was Revolution). So I'm all caught up on TV. Monday I leave again for only 20 days this time. I'll have to decide what I want to spend my nights playing this time around. Last time it was mostly FFXIV. I definitely have to do something other than go out and eat/drink all the time. I think I put on about 8 lbs over those 36 days with all the "Hey guys, let's hit up the steak house tonight" and then having an 11oz steak, loaded potato, and a couple tall beers.

Man Rogue Legacy is driving me insane. Got lots of neat unlocks now, still pretty much suck most runs... Occasionally have a glory run were everything clicks. Then I play to much while not paying attention and die without making any gold for like 10 runs and realize it's break time.

Then I play more anyway.

First night I got it I played till I got a massive blister on my thumb

then I played some more.

then I decided I ought to lay off the crack

then I played more.

Then my thumb really hurt so I stopped.

Started playing Contrast the other night. It's exactly how I suspected it would be: little rough but enjoyable, charming setting (provided you like the 1920's theme) and a somewhat novel game mechanic. Only an hour and change into it but I haven't found any puzzles that were all that difficult yet.

Anyone tried out Paper's Please?

Quote:
The communist state of Arstotzka has ended a 6-year war with neighboring Kolechia and reclaimed its rightful half of the border town, Grestin.

Your job as immigration inspector is to control the flow of people entering the Arstotzkan side of Grestin from Kolechia. Among the throngs of immigrants and visitors looking for work are hidden smugglers, spies, and terrorists. Using only the documents provided by travelers and the Ministry of Admission's primitive inspect, search, and fingerprint systems you must decide who can enter Arstotzka and who will be turned away or arrested.

Not sure if it's got ten bucks worth of entertainment in it....

I've heard good things about Papers Please from other people but I wasn't able to bring myself to buy it at 50% off over the weekend. Once it hits 75% or an indie bundle I'll give it a shot.

You might also like Spelunky, I recall that being a quality game.

Been playing Path of Exile. Its been cleaned up quite a bit since I participated in its beta. I am pretty engrossed in it right now the sheer volume of play styles available and skills/abilities to utilize is pretty surreal. Sports 3 acts over 3 difficulties, as well as a pretty much a forever endgame with some frankly "impossible" content. (how they expect you to clear content without having Mana regen is insane...but people do it somehow.)

Anyone who is in to diablo style ARPGs should check this out...its also free.

This.

Also, really REALLY frustrating. I finally am at a place where I can clear the castle without trouble (excluding minibosses; to date I have only killed two), and even the forest isn't too tough as long as I don't ***** up too often. Unfortunately I do ***** up fairly often Smiley: lol

Getting Vampiric runes and gear really helps, as did pumping points into armor. Or so I've found. I have yet to take any of the magic classes for a spin besides Spellsword, which was lackluster. I must be doing magic wrong... also, this game's controls are a bit rough. I feel like playing with a controller instead of the keyboard would work better. Maybe I'll treat myself to a controller, as my birthday is coming up soon Smiley: grin

I really want to buy XCom, but I'll wait to see if there's a decent sale on it. I'm also debating if I want the Bioshock Infinite Season Pass; but again, I'll wait on it for now. I've heard the Buried at Sea DLC is only a few hours long.

The Walking Dead Season 2, chapter 1 comes out on the 17th, and I'm debating picking that up too. The preorder season pass for it is, I believe, $22.50 on Steam. That's not bad, though I don't look forward to waiting several months between chapters.

Per episode? A couple hours for $7 (30% off from GMG) isn't terrible although it's sort of hard to quantify if some other game is discounted to $4.99 and gives twelve hours of game play or something. Of course, if you don't intend on playing it soonish, it's not as though it's going to get more expensive provided you're willing to wait on anther sale/coupon.

Hey Locke, I think I still have an extra XCOM: EU PC key if you want it.

Shadowstrike was awesome enough to gift me XCom in exchange for Sir, You Are Being Hunted... except he already has it Smiley: laugh So, if someone wants a key to it, send me a PM! First come, first served Smiley: nod

Started Saints Row IV a couple nights ago. It's... okay? I mean, it's fun and all but I think I liked the carjacking and bang-bang guns of SRTT more than the super sprinting and pew-pew guns of IV. I'm sure I'll finish it and not hate it but I think I'll be sticking with SRTT for my satisfying doses of random mayhem.

I'm kind of in a gaming rut, lol.

I was playing Ni No Kuni, but I think I'm just not one for the JRPG anymore. It's a beautiful game, and the combat is fun enough, but the particular pacing of main/side quests of JRPGs is grating...

I'm subbed to TOR, but I keep not playing it. Smiley: lol

Most of my gaming time has gone to Marvel Puzzle Quest recently, not gonna lie.

Me too. It's laziness on my part. I don't have the will to find, download, install, and learn any particular game at the moment.

It's so easy to just hit the Candy Crush box on FB for 20mins of mindless gaming.

With winter here though, I might find some time to dedicate to an interesting game or two.

I'm subbed to LotRO. I too keep not playing. The pvmp is dead right now cuz of major pve expansion.
