Age of Empires II HD: The Forgotten DLC from Amazon is giving a key that activates both base game and the DLC. At $2.49 that's 88% off AOE II HD base price, not counting the $10 DLC. Of course, you have to want AOE II HD, I guess.

Just worked for me, your mileage may vary.

I was very close to buying it from Steam an hour ago, but put it off because it was part of the daily deal and I had a long time to make the decision. Good thing I waited.

I can confirm it, the Base Game + DLC for buying the DLC from Amazon for $2.49

I just hope the publisher or Amazon doesn't decide it's too big of a bug and take it all back.

Amazon doesn't have a way to reclaim or invalidate a Steam key. I suppose the publisher does in extreme cases but I've never seen it happen even with things like the huge Bethesda/BL2 fiasco at GamersGate or when Amazon sold pre-order keys for Alien: Isolation for $9.99. I assume the publisher would just go after the merchant for their missing revenue.

Thinking back, the only times I can think of keys getting revoked on Steam were for fraudulent keys. Some game (I don't remember... Borderlands 1?) where a ton of keys were generated out of Eastern Europe via cracked keygen thingie. People were trading for them or buying them from the forums and they all got revoked. But if you had bought your key from a legitimate seller you were still fine.

Oh. I never was involved with any of the pricing fiascos in the past. I remember reading about your GamersGate Bethesda one and remembered you mentioning they weren't honoring them. I thought you meant they refunded and revoked them. But I guess you meant they were not honoring the ones that had not processed yet.

Edit:
I had heard of Steam revoking gifted and traded games from users when the person who original bought the gift did something like issue a chargeback on the item.

Yeah, with the Bethesda thing, if you got a key (and revealed it) to any of the games in the bundle then they honored the whole purchase. If you were backlogged on the keys or had a key but never revealed it, they canceled the purchase (refunded and gave you an additional one year discount). But they never took away any activated products. Once the key was revealed, it was considered to be your game.

Sword of the Stars: the Pit [edit: Gold Edition] is probably glitched as well at 87% off ($1.74). Looks like they price matched the wrong product from Steam.

I got that game. I bought it for $1.39 from Steam back in December. I don't think that's a price error :)

Edit:
I see it is the Gold Edition (all the DLC stuff and Sound Track). So ya... probably not set right.
Wonder what happens if I redeem the Gold edition ontop of a standard.

Edit2:
It is redeemable if you already own the base game, and adds the DLC to your game. For 1.79, getting the DLC (4.99 and 2.99 list) and the Sound Track (4.99 list) is good.

One DLC is not included in the Gold Pack (A $1.99 DLC). It's a new character and a few monsters/items.

With Steam, 9 times out of 10 redeeming a "complete edition" or whatever with all the DLC when you already own the base game just adds the DLC to your already owned base game.

I voted for the Epic - Fantasy flash sale this time, because I owned every game in the Comedy - Platformer choice. But I am guessing the Platformer will win because it's got Psychonauts, Guacamelee, and Gunpoint, plus two 80% off discounts.

Edit:
I got my first Playfire (GMG Steam Stat monitoring) update email since I really started farming cards.

"Hey, you started tracking a new game!"'
Then near the end:

You've also just started tracking:
*LIST OF 60 GAMES*

Edit 2:
Age of Empires II HD has Steam Trading Cards. 4 of them :)
So you can drop probably 30-40 cents off the already give away price from Amazon.

Monaco is really fun. I played it a bunch on 360.

I'm really hoping that 1001 Spikes, Castle Crashers, Battleblock Theater, and Cave Story+ end up at cheaper prices. My plan is to not buy anything until the last day unless it's a Flash Sale, Community Choice, or Daily Deal.

Grabbed a 4-pack of Monaco as well. I think this sale is going to end up with me not spending any real money, but buying a bunch of super cheap games with Gaben FunBuxx.

I really thought that Guacamelee and Psychonauts would win the flash sale. But maybe the Final Fantasy VII name made people vote for the other one.

I picked up Un-Epic and Epic Battle Fantasy 4. I'd probably grab Age of Mythology if it were a bit deeper discount, -40% is a little Meh. I'm trying to decide whether or not to buy Craft the World. It's been on my wishlist for a while now, but I'm not sure if I should bother with it. Early Access (I'd hate for it to end up being another Starbound) and probably wouldn't play it very much between now and the next time it's on sale for 75% off.

It does look really cool, but the Early Access thing is a bummer. I added it to my wishlist. If it's off early access by the next sale, I'll buy it then.

Epic Battle Fantasy cards still selling for a lot... even with the game being on a flash sale for cheap.

Just sold the first one for 16 cents. 7 Card Drops total.

Got a foil Gaige from Borderlands 2. Made $1.20 off of it. I might give in and just buy Battleblock. I just know I'll regret it later in the sale because it'll be cheaper, but I want to play it today. Going to try to play other **** to distract myself in the meantime.

I ended up buying it. It was only 40% off, when it had been 50% previously, but the difference was a buck.

From the hour I played (roughly) it is better than Starbound so far. A lot to take in though, and there are some quirky bugs here and there. Maybe not bugs, I'm not 100% sure. My Dwarves fall off of log bridges occasionally, not sure if they are supposed to cause they suck at walking or if they glitch through. They also have a habit of walking across small gaps.

Enemies have interesting AI. I had a large cliff protecting me, and laughed as the skeletons at night tried to jump up and couldn't. But then a few more came, and one of them crouched down and raised its shield above its... and the other jumped ontop of it. Then another came behind and crouched down. Then the giant zombie abomination hopped up ontop of the skeletons like a stairway and attack. Smiley: eek

Took me an hour to figure out that I didn't have to craft the stupid protection totem, kept trying to find the ingredients for it. Turns out achieving level two gave me one to start with. The Dwarves won't rest in the beds to regain health until there is a totem in a secure area. And apparently they won't share beds even if the other isn't using it. Not sure if that's a bug or if the dwarves each claim a bed to use and refuse to use each others.

Someone here bought it an hour or two before it went on sale for 75%... (it was 50%)

Edit:
It was Spoon, he bought it around noon EST or so before I went to the store. Then when I was at the store 1PM rolled around so I fired up my phone to look at the new sales, and saw Battleblock for 75%... and laughed.
