Uplay is an abomination. Sure, I LIKE having all my games under one umbrella with Steam, but I can accept Origin. It's reactive, it does what it sets out to do fairly well, and I don't use Steam's community options anyway. I just wish Origin had Steam-level sales (mitigated by the fact that you can get them through Amazon) and had Steam's achievement-tracking (though they're testing this feature for new games).

But UPlay? Uplay can GO TO HELL.

UPlay HATED working for me when I had it. Logging in was always a nightmare (would regularly tell me I had the wrong credentials when I was positive they were correct. And that happened all the time). And then installation/running titles was annoying.

I gave up on it really quickly. It's fully possible it's been vastly improved, and that was just a buggy period for a small number of users. But I don't really care. I was begrudgingly using the service the first time around. You make my experience terrible, you miss out on my business.

Biggest problem with KOA was the claustrophobic camera. Which you can and should fix. Other than that I thought it was great fun. I had forgotten about the DLC. Might snag it for shiggles.

You must be the most unlucky person in existence.

Without exaggeration, I've never had a service not work the way it was intended to. (Origin, Steam, Uplay, GFWL, Desura, etc.

GFWL has some completely bizarre name for me as my login. I have no idea where it came from and when I first saw it, I thought perhaps it got hacked or something. I don't remember it offhand but it's not even a "normal" name like Frank Jones but rather something off the wall like Banthara Gwesil.

I suppose it's a self-correcting problem seeing as how the system is shutting down anyway.

GFWL went relatively smoothly for me, I had an Xbox Live account for quite some time before using GFWL, and it didn't have any issues.

Similar with Uplay, activating Steam games on it has never been an issue with me. Maybe because I already had an existing account from my free copy of Assassin Creed 3 that came with my SSD a while back?

ugh. I already have it installed because of Anno 2070 but... I actually didn't end up playing any Anno 2070 after I finished "playing" with uplay... I was too tired to play the actual game. Once it started up I didn't know what to do and all my mental reserves were exhaused from trying to figure out the damn launcher.

Now I'm sure I've definitely forgot my credentials. Ughhhh.

I had to log in to an EA account to play KoA.

That was a pain as of course when I tried to make an account it said I had one, but I couldn't find it. They didn't give me any options to re-find lost account info, but I just kept trying my standard user names and passwords and eventually one stuck.

I have it on xbox and it doesn't make me log in... I just wanted to try it with the DLC. Also I never set up my damn xbox.

Calm down, O; the Uplay thing was a joke. Elinda may have been playing the Origin copy of the game, which requires an Origin account (duh). The Steam version may not require it.

I suspect it's one or the other. I don't know anything about Uplay. As far as I know I don't have an account with them and I wasn't asked for one.

Edit - I had downloaded the game through STEAM, but I had previously downloaded a demo.

I purchased KOA the other day, and the only thing I had to do was login to my Origin through the game (not the launcher, and not Uplay).

Bundle Stars is giving away a free game on Steam.
http://giveaways.bundlestars.com/?pid

pid
http://store.steampowered.com/app/218740/

All you have to do is sign up for their news letter, basically. Bundle Stars is pretty aggressive with their bundle and store advertisements. They gave away a copy of Metro a while ago over Facebook, (sign up, like, share, etc.) and they are constantly posting updates and doing contests with free bundle rewards to get their name out there.

But, they do have some decent deals as far as Quantity, and it seems as they are increasing their user base, the Quality has gone up a bit as well.

Green Man Gaming as Injustice Gods Among Us Ultimate Edition for sale, 75% off, $12.49. Used to have 2.00 GMG Credit option, but that is apparently gone now. 20% voucher does not work on it.

Indie Gala has a new bundle up with a handful of games, including Sang-Froid - Tales of Werewolves, which apparently got good reviews. It also has two copies of Interstellar Marines, a very pricey Early Access game. The game is 15 dollars, and the Special Edition is 40 dollars. You get both in the bundle. I added the normal edition first, then I added the special edition, it gave me the DLC, and then gave me a gift copy of the base game.

If anyone doesn't already have this; 'Don't Starve' on steam sale for six bucks right now.

Hey man, he said it's not "some platformer or zombie survival sim," and that you "start from nothing". What more do you need to describe it?
