I feel like, after a very densely populated fall-spring last cycle for games (TR2013, FC3, Hitman: Ab, Sleeping Dogs, BSI, Metro: LL, etc) there just wasn't a lot released since that has really excited me. So it's not just weak sales, it's that there's not much I'm looking for to go on sale. 50% off wasn't enough to make me bite on Papers, Please. A good discount might make me try Kerbal Space Program since, despite its "early access" status I've seen a lot of people saying good things about it. I doubt it'll hit the 75% point though to make me take the plunge.

I bought Aliens: Colonial Marines for the two dollar lulz and that's been it so far.

Oh, and Secret of the Magic Crystals has (had?) a promotion where you can buy the Android app on sale for 99¢ (all Amazon app credit in my case) and get a free Steam key for it Smiley: laugh

Nation Red is $1.49 on Steam if you want a cheap, fun arena shooter.

I am really digging starbound even though it is early access. Worth picking up. I bought it at full price and don't regret a thing.

Borderlands 2 GotY for 14.99 get. It will probably be 9.99 come the summer sale, but I'm fine with the current price.

Edit: Apparently that price was an error, it should have been 29.99. I managed to get it before they caught on.

Remember Me is $10 from GMG with coupon code GMG20-ZB5D1-93X49. that's 20% off the 75% off so that's probably as low as you'll see it go until the game itself has a MSRP drop.

If you download an app from the Amazon app store today (free or bought) you get a $5 app credit to be used before March 31, 2014. Credit good for app purchases or in-app purchases through Amazon.

You also get 10 cents in GMG credits. So it's almost like $9.90!

So the last Flash sale ended up being won by a little 3 dollar game for 90% off that was already 80% off.

Steam Community is in an uproar about how stupid voters are. Voting to save 30 cents over some larger discounts on some more valuable games. Voters only seeing the "90%, WOW!" and clicking vote.

Nothing new. Voters have always been notoriously stupid.

The only thing new (well, since the Summer Sale) is that voting is incentived itself, so people who have no stake in the outcome click a button. Most of these people are just clicking, because they have no stake in the result. Not surprising they just click the prettiest discount.

Ya, it'd be interesting to see how many of those 48% of the votes actually buy the game.

Apparently people really like this Kentucky Route Zero thing. Not even sure what it is. And of course the Dating Sim/JRPG thing that is that Queen game has it's own fanatics mad that it didn't win.

If you are interested in Long Live the Queen, The Developer is apparently doing the 50% off deal on their website.
http://www.hanakogames.com/llq.shtml

And you can redeem your CD Key you get for a Steam Key to activate it on Steam here:
http://nettle.spikycaterpillar.com/

Props to them for giving their potential customers the deal they missed out on, and a Steam key.

Community Votes always end stupidly. You could put DOTA2 up for 99% off and it would win. That said, all these episodic games lately can eat my balls.

There's only been one vote so far that I actually gave damn about the outcome, the rest I've just been picking randomly to get my cards. Those silly things are still selling a decent amount compared to other cards, so I'm pretty much giving myself a discount. I was a bit miffed when Brothers didn't win though.

Ya, if Brothers had one I probably would have tried it out. Not because I'm super interested, but just because it seems a bit interesting and having it on the front page would have grabbed my attention.

I think I voted for it though.

At all. Not a single other vote option has been interesting at all. Pretty much it was either a game that is on sale every other week, or an early access or crappy option.

But I really wanted Brothers to win, because I've heard good things.

In case it was missed by anyone, Valve is giving away Left for Dead 2 today on Steam, because Valve is awesome like that.

I wonder if that's why I'm getting an "Error Code: -118" when I try to check the store.

I bought the LEGO Marvel Heroes game on Amazon (60% off), and it triggered a 5 dollar credit. So I picked up Fable Lost Chapters, the Alien game everyone hates, and Tomb Raider (went 2 dollars over). Didn't even know about the credit so it was all an added bonus.

It seems to be working for me now. I just got it for free. Going to try to activate my Amazon games now.

Edit:
Worked long enough for me to get my free game, and register my Amazon games, then voted, then error.

Steam did it on purpose to keep people from voting on games so they don't have to receive complaints about the voting system.
