Who did GOG get their license from? If it was Bethesda, I fail to see how this is an "FU" the Bethesda unless GOG has a license that let's them distribute the game for free.

Ya, I don't see it as a big "FU" to Bethesda but a "Use it before you lose it" to drum up bethesda hits on their distribution network and make them look better. Pick up a lot of new accounts with the big names, and have a larger user base when they make later deals. I don't think I have a GoG account yet.

It was originally an Interplay license, but Bethesda won the rights to the sale of the old games in the most recent court battle against them. My point is that "Free Games" is like a giant dinner bell for gamers, and the fact that the sale is being advertised on every major gamer site means that the profit Bethesda would have received from the post-GOG sales of the games are now a lot less than what they could have been.

Meh. If I agree to pay a company "X" amount for every item I sell, then end up giving away the items for free, I'm the one taking the hit, no so much the company. The benefit being is I increase my exposure to people and make potential new customers for later.

Sure, Bethesda may have been able to sell those same games later for a slightly higher price, but the Fallout Collection (1, 2, Tactics) is a dirt cheap game collection that is on sale numerous times throughout the year for 75% off or more. It's not exactly a big money maker for Bethesda.

What the Fallout Collection _IS_, is a cheap game that carries the Fallout name (Big crowd draw), and when a distributor gives them away for free it drums up advertising and new accounts. More accounts, more chances for people to spend money, better deals from the license holders.

If you're an Android user, Game Dev Story is the Free App of the Day from Amazon. Better than the usual schlock.

In case anyone hadn't been following them, Bundle Stars seems to be growing, a wider selection of deals, and some better bundles. Still decent prices.

Steam Holiday Sale kicked off today. Runs through the 3rd. Normal stuff 24 hour normal deals. 8 Hour Flash Sales. And Community Choices every 8 hours you can vote on. As a reminder don't buy anything unless it's a Daily or Flash sale!

It's a great game, if you've played Bayonetta or Vanquish it's the same combat style. Definitely worth $20.

No you!

I buys it. And Receseceseter Ho, plus Mirrors Edge, and the 2nd Knife of Dunwall DLC for Dishonored.

Always kinda meant to play most of those at some point.

Such is the way of these things. I'd like to think I am paying the premium for the convenience, since I don't have a GMG account. At Steam I just, Add to cart, Add to cart, Purchase for myself, Done!

Steam sale has been pretty underwhelming so far. I did spend some funbucks on Sleeping Dogs for 4.99. I may even get around to playing it some time next year.

So far the flash sales and community votes seem to be very heavy in the Indie pile, and there are a lot of Early Access games. That's why it seems so underwhelming.

I'm not a fan of most the Early Access games. Lots of promise and little progress.

Though the worst case scenario is that I pick up Rogue Legacy for 50% off, it won't be so bad.

I might grab Gone Home for $10 if it doesn't go cheaper. I meant to grab it the other day from Humble, but forgot, so shame on me.
