Meh. If I agree to pay a company "X" amount for every item I sell, then end up giving away the items for free, I'm the one taking the hit, no so much the company. The benefit being is I increase my exposure to people and make potential new customers for later.
Sure, Bethesda may have been able to sell those same games later for a slightly higher price, but the Fallout Collection (1, 2, Tactics) is a dirt cheap game collection that is on sale numerous times throughout the year for 75% off or more. It's not exactly a big money maker for Bethesda.
What the Fallout Collection _IS_, is a cheap game that carries the Fallout name (Big crowd draw), and when a distributor gives them away for free it drums up advertising and new accounts. More accounts, more chances for people to spend money, better deals from the license holders.
