Well, I've finally upgraded my computer enough to where I can join the Master Racetm! My question is should I just start buying games now or will there be a big Steam sale in the near future that I would be better off waiting for? I still have my dirty little consoles so it's not like I have nothing to play. At the least, I'll keep checking the daily deals.

There is going to be a sudo-holiday Steam sale for Halloween, but you'll want to start saving up for the Xmas sales since all the major digital distributors will be discounting a lot of games.

I'd save up as well as buying any humble bundle type things with games you have any interest in.

I can play the waiting game for a while, saving up won't be a problem as I already dropped a hundred bucks in my Steam wallet. That should get me a nice crop of games come sale time. Instant backlog!Smiley: laugh

I still play, and we still have a Zam guild on Crystal Desert, though I really don't see many on (since we all no doubt have our main guilds). If you or anyone did decide to play you can still friend cross worlds, so your world choice is open for you to decide. Dyadem.5139 if you do buy it and wish to add me.

I'd pay $6 for Darksiders 2 easy. Already have it though, and nothing else in the pack really interests me.

Yeah, it always is during give-aways. I'm sure everyone on Slickdeals and Reddit is trying to get a copy.

Assassin's Creed 3 is on sale on Steam right now for 60% off, and all the DLC is 66% off. They also have the deluxe edition for the same discount and includes:
Quote:
The game, plus
All five downloadable content pack:
-The Hidden Secrets Pack
-The Battle Hardened Pack
-Tyranny of King Washington: The Infamy
-Tyranny of King Washington: The Betrayal
-Tyranny of King Washington: The Redemption
4 bonus single-player missions, adding over an hour of additional gameplay
The official Assassin’s Creed® III soundtrack (mp3 files)
George Washington’s notebook (pdf file)

... for $23.99. Sale lasts for 42 more hours (until around midnight on Friday, I guess).

Opinions? Worth getting the whole thing, or maybe just the game + all 3 parts of Tyranny of Washington for just under $20?

I've only played ACII so far, though I have Brotherhood downloaded. Haven't played it yet... AC2 was ok, but didn't "wow" me.

I played the base game just long enough to finish the story and never touched it again. It's a great game, but the end of the Desmond arc was so abysmally bad that I just couldn't go back after that. Because of that, I can't say if the DLC is worth it or not, the base game is though.

Oh god, what happened? I heard about the stuff with Lucy, but I have no context there.

I really liked the games, but I ended up halting halfway through Brotherhood and just never picked another one up. Loose plans to go back, but I'm honestly not going to bother if the story has gotten as bad as I see it suggested online.

Humble Focus Bundle for the weekly sale.

$1 Tier
Cities XL Platinum
Bowl Bowl: Legendary Edition
Divinity II: Director's Cut
RAW: Realms of Ancient War
Game of Thrones: Role-Playing Game
Confrontation

$6 Tier
Wargame: European Escalation
The Testament of Sherlock Holmes

Buck tier would be worth it for Divinity II all by itself. It's not a fantastic life changing game but it's certainly fun for a buck if you enjoy action RPGs.

They put in a pretty lame plot device so that Desmond could sacrifice himself to save the world. the wiki page has a somewhat decent synopsis if you're interested. I thought it was a pretty terrible ending, it could have been good with better setup and writing, but his dying was almost an afterthought. It just didn't work at all.
