Unmercy is without a doubt one of the best rogues out there, and makes ridiculous videos. I'm downloading it right now (all 691 MB, ugh), so I can't give a review yet, but based on his other movies, it should be good.

Also, it's primarily an arena video, but it was (supposedly) done to be entertaining, not necessarily show skill.

My whole allowance for the month is only 500 megs!

I'll be sure to check it out once I get a PC and internet when I move.

It's a pretty fun video, showing how much power the Shadowdance spec for rogues has.

Is it intentional that he named his character Unmercy? It grinds my gears whenever I see it.

There is no word called Unmercy, dammit. It should be Mercilessness, or if he's going for antonyms to Mercy, Cruelty.

Edit: Unmercey, even. Ugh.

Speaking from personal experience, that sucks.

It's a big file. I suggest streaming it on WCM unless you're OCD like me and have to keep PvP videos around to watch over and over.

Well, the production is pretty bad - there's vent to go with the fights but it's very hard to hear above the music. Ideally they would've cut it to 1/4 volume or something every time they had someone talking.

There's some good stuff in there, though. We've got some shaman CC/fake swapping, some 2v1s (including two rogues, one of who is quite good and one of who's pretty incompetent) a bit of entirely unnecessary silence grenade abuse vs some mages, and a clutch invis sap on some poor rogue in 2v2. More entertaining than instructional.

Second time around, not corrupted.

I got the impression it was in no way meant to be instructional. :P

I found his UI to be particularly interesting--it's much more cluttered than most high-ranking PvPers.

Other than that though, I couldn't really evaluate how skilled he was. Like, I knew he was a WAY better player than me (the efficiency, speed and decisiveness of his target switches was impressive), but I don't know enough about Rogues to actually say more than that.

I do have a question though. When his target was stationary, he'd still be strafing really quickly back and forth. Why is that?

Well, a number of reasons. Keeps you on your toes for if they break out, good practice for general PvP as it often lags the opener (you continue moving, esp with jumping) so you have a second less of being beaten on, and also it looks cool.

Oh, and it's harder for people to target you.

Some of us also generate a nervous twitch where we tap our Q/E (or A/D) buttons repeatedly so if we need to gouge, vanish/sprint, or blind we can and jump away to put as much distance as possible between us and melee hits.

But yes, it also makes you appear to jump around to someone that lags.
