A friend and I were discussing artifact relics tonight. I told him I can't tell if a relic was working and I had no active link to it on my weapon. He said it works without an active link.

My question is, is that true? I wouldn't think it would work without an active link to tie the trait tree together.

It's true. You don't need an active link to a trait being enhanced by a relic for that trait to take effect. The only thing you need an active link for is to put artifact points into a trait.
