Thinking of making a return!Follow

Hey guys, I'm thinking of making a return back to wow, I have a question though.. Is it worth it nowadays? I haven't played since the release of burning crusade (quit due to RL situations), and now I'm bored of FFXIV, and want to make a return and start from scratch.. To get my bearings again mainly, but I don't want to join up again to deserted worlds? Any reply would be helpful!

Thanks!

I've heard that this was a great expansion. However, I can't speak much to deserted worlds, as I haven't re-subbed since quitting again in Cata. I doubt they'll be truly deserted, but since it's starting to feel like we're approaching an end cycle for this one*, I wouldn't be surprised if in a couple months a bunch of folks take a break while waiting for the next expansion.

*I could be wrong, but with Garrosh down, I get the feeling there aren't many more content patches left for this one.

It's always hard to predict what another person might enjoy but so far MoP has shaped out to be a pretty solid expansion. The raiding is intense and complex, there are many laid back side activities, a lot of treasure hunting/exploring if you're into that kind of stuff and some pretty hardcore things like Challenge Modes, Proving Grounds and (because it can be outgeared) to a lesser degree the Brawlers Guild.
I'd say just give it a try. And to avoid the 'desolate server' problem, just pick one that is populated. Smiley: wink I wouldn't rely on Blizzards advertisement which server is full and which is empty, but instead look on WoWProgress or some similar site.

Edit: I think they hinted at a possible patch 5.5 that would (obviously) come before 6.0 and adress the changes to Orgrimmar that happened during and after the siege.

I just posted something similar...I didn't see your post when I made it. I've tried several MMOs since leaving WoW, but feeling nostalgic I'm thinking of coming back. I'm not 100% yet, I reserved a copy of MoP at my Gamestop so I can run by after work to pick it up, or I can cancel it. I just moved, so I won't even have internet until tomorrow afternoon...so even if I get it tonight, I won't be installing it.

Decisions, decisions.

Also, server consolidationConnected Realms ramping up. This morning, they announced five more server pairs to go with the two sets they've already rolled out. If nothing breaks, I'd expect lots more by the time of the pre-expansion patch.
