Edit, Vol'jinn is getting a book, so that has to help his chances.

New sound files from the PTR say he is poisoned in an attack and becomes deathly ill; it is strongly implied that Garrosh is behind it.

From the leaks I have seen, that seems to be a theme. In Cataclysm, Garrosh was a butthead but he was a stickler for the principles of the Horde. Now he seems to be a lot more inclined to take the path of expedience. Traditionally, this is the first step for a character down a path that ends with betraying any person or principle that gets in their way. I suspect this is the hook they'll use to make even Horde guilds want to run the final raid to depose him.

I'm pretty sure Horde players have been calling for his blood since at least WotLK.

Well, I said as much in the part that got chopped. But that's not enough - Jaina Proudmoore actually burst into tears when Varian Wrynn, for the first time ever, /wasn't/ an asshat in public. The Alliance isn't looking for a tree stump and a strong man with an axe... Jerkitude has never been a disqualification for high office, in and of itself.

I'd love to see something with Sylvanas Windrunner. I love where they took her character in Cata, and I think having her take over as Warchief could be an interesting development. A twist of fate almost. The Orcish leaders forced the presences of the Orcs into Undercity, what if she would force her way as the leader in Orgrimmar? Not many horde leaders would really be able to get in her way.

Yeah, but if that's the hook they'll use to get even Horde guilds to want to kill him, it suggests they don't want to already. Smiley: tongue

That won't fly though. Most of the Horde view her like we would view a crazy friend with a shillaly. Sure they make look intimidating to your enemies but you never know when they will view you as the next enemy. Besides Sylvanas is treading a fine line at the moment. She keeps going the path that she is and there will be little that separates her from the Lich King. Which I expect is the point.

Whoever gets to lead the Horde will have to be liked by the people who kick Garrosh out. Possible Alliance having an opinion on it. -shrug-

I'm gonna assume that some loner named Riddiq isn't gonna come into the picture, smackdown Garrosh in an epic fight, then claim ya keep what ya kill ... /shrug.

Anyway, it had me wondering that, at least for the players part, that anyone leading the Horde other than an orc (and presumably the main horde hub would be their hometown, if it exists, rather than Org) would just simply feel ... odd.

Am I the only one getting the feeling Jaina's going to jump off the slippery slope come next expansion? Maybe she'll even join the Burning Legion.

Because, y'know, Blizzard has a great track record of quiet, gradual descents into madness.

I hope the next expansion will be Rise of the Legion. Pandas and stuff aside, this expansion lacked a familiar theme. It's been full of new (demi)gods, new conflicts and a new culture, all of it completely alien to the old Warcraft RTS games.

Could do with some familiar themes. Also, Enslave Demon needs a comeback. My Warlock hasn't been able to use it since, what, 2008?

Yeah, MoP continues to confuse me. I feel like it makes a LOT more sense as a post-BL kind of expansion, when the treaty between the two factions that let them survive the onslaught breaks down again.

But I guess the real reason they did it is to allow the open hostilities to be the main plot, without a big bad to make it as freaking awkward as it was in Cata. Oh, hey, look... Ragnaros is coming our way. Better stop him befor-IS THAT AN ORC? KILL IT, DAMN EVERYTHING ELSE, KILL IT I SAY!

but not join intentionally at first, like a slippery slope sort of descent

then after a bit she realizes she is helping sarg but is like w/e we want the same things to happen so it is ok by me...

And that's when Kael'thas gets resurrected again.

Edit: After looking up some stuff, I could be wrong. Maybe she'll have blue dragon babies and live happily ever after with Kalec.

Nah.
