Depending on what gear they started you with, probably not.

Time spent on old quests will build rep with old factions. You'll want to build rep with Cataclysm factions so that you can get the appropriate shoulder inscription and arcanum. Gaining rep with those factions will also open up dailies and maybe some useful gear. Getting the early quests for a zone out of the way will also let you buy a faction tabard so you can get rep from random dungeon runs.

With that said:

You may want to start with Mount Hyjal instead of Vashj'ir. A later patch added Firelands, a zone that offers nicer stuff at 85, but you have to clear a good chunk of the Mt. Hyjal quests to open it. You'll also want rep with their faction for the caster's arcanum.

Deepholm has the quest lines for your shoulder inscriptions. Do it as early as you can, unlocking the vendor is annoyingly lengthy.

Watch for the quest line where you save Thrall, which starts with The call of the World-Shaman. You'll probably want the cloak at the end of the chain to help you improve your iLevel.

Run random dungeons early and often. You'll probably have a few frustrating PUG experiences, but drops in instances are usually nice. You can use a tabard to build faction rep, the money is OK and it is easy to get the quests (which pile on more XP, rep and rewards). Overall, the benefits should outweigh the PUGs, although sometimes it may not seem like it.

Smiley: nod Yes, Rhode is annoyed at PUGs this weekend.

Hey,

Thanks for the tip, I just got to lvl 85 today - I quit after our guild got to a couple kills in Serpentshrine Cavern during TBC and then broke up.

So I wasn't sure if there were any rewards from the Lich King that would be worth doing, or ones I forgot from TBC. I did go get the quest in lich king for tailors to get better cloth drops while in northrend, too poor to buy all that cloth.

I've already cleared the (84 and down quest stories) of hyjal, Vashj'ir, deepholm, and twilight highlands I think. I'll try to start that "the call of the world" quest tomorrow. What other zones are there to quest on?

I've done a couple of the lower dungeons with the dungeon finder, it I had to tell people what to do on one of them, being my second attempt going there, not exciting.

:edit:

I completed the call of the world chain, don't like it don't have hit or crit lol ah well :p

Now if I could just get a group for the crucible of carnage arena thing..way better than my current staff.

any other quests with good rewards?

The only other zone other than the ones you've listed is Uldum. Personally my favorite zone, simply because of the Indiana Jones reference throughout the whole area.

Not sure if this is what you mean, but none of the rewards prior to 80 will have any practical value for a level capped character. There are several fun flavor items however. The Toy Windmill comes to mind. There's a trinket from Tanaris that summons a goblin nurse as a companion. And I seem to recall a rainbow maker from Felwood quests... so intense.

That is what I meant, I knew gear-wise <80 quests wouldn't be worth doing.

I hope I find some better ilvl stuff, not much luck on these low floors I have the ilvl to do. lol

If you've finished most of Mt. Hyjal the Molton Front quests should have nice rewards. Check the board in your capital city.
