...at sucking you back in.

About a month ago, I logged onto WoW for the last time to do any serious playing. Since then, I've started playing Star Wars and have only logged onto WoW to chat with friends who haven't made the jump tio Star Wars yet. However, it seems like every day I see something Blizzard is doing that makes me want to play WoW as well as Star Wars.

Unfortunately, that's out of the question. I just do not have the time to dedicate to two MMOs. I am going to be subbed to WoW for another 6 months or so because I signed up for the annual pass before considering playing Star Wars. I am also enjoying the hell out of Star Wars. It's entirely possible it's just the newness of the game that has me enamored, but there's no way to tell until that newness wears off.

So for now I'll just stay with a month-to-month sub to Star Wars and if I stop enjoying the game, WoW will always be there for me.

same spot for me. However I did get an email from BioWare this morning informing me they could not take my money Smiley: lol
Agreed to the annual pass last week, and have been working on my prot warrior while figuring out what has been added and changed in the last year or so.
I'll go back to TOR once few updates happen, I seemed to hit a wall and did not want to roll alts to keep playing XD

I just started TOR about 3 weeks ago, so I'm still working on my first character, a female human marauder. It's a ton of fun and I am already looking forward to rolling alts. It's not disillusionment with TOR that has me wanting to play WoW, it's a lot of the announcements I've seen regarding MoP and some of the other changes Blizzard is making, like the mid-expansion redesign of RFC.

I completely agree. I just recently started playing TOR as well. I'm quite enjoying the storyline quest setup. It's a nice change from the accept and go quests from WoW, but I definitely am excited for MoP and the changes.

I thought about playing TOR, but I can't be bothered to learn a new game. Diablo III and MoP are coming out and I have too much of a social life to do anything with my free time except play WoW and read.

I was worried about the learning curve as well, but it's really not that steep. There are some pretty interesting class mechanics, like a light armor wearing tank, a ranged tank. There are 4 melee advanced classes and 4 ranged advanced classes.

I haven't done any PVP so far, so I don't know anything about it, but my friends all say it's a lot more fun than WoW's. I will admit Huttball sounds interesting.

I may take a look at it, but I'm subbed to WoW for a year, working, and going back to school. Not a whole lot of time to be had, TBH.

That's my problem now. I have no problem paying for both and only playing TOR (free copy of D3 and all), but every day I see more and more changes in WoW that not only make me want to come back, but that make me want to almost start over and reroll. I do not, however, have time to play 2 different MMOs. Heck, I'm 3 weeks into TOR and my first character is only level 27.

I think the fact that I already have an 85 rogue who has about 6 or 7 years of history and that I love to play the class will keep me away from TOR. The changes coming in MoP look fantastic and the fact that I'm on a new realm makes the game more interesting as I need to build up my personal network again, and get my personal economy running.

Monk already looks incredibly interesting and the rogue changes look great as well.

I'm not going to continue the quote pyramid, but I agree with everything you said.

One of the things I am liking the most about TOR is the lack of an auto-attack for melee classes. At first I was a little concerned about this, but once I got used to it, I now love it. It makes deciding which ability you are going to use more in-depth than just "what do I have the resources for that does the most damage".

I play a class called a sith marauder. It compares best to either a combat rogue or a SMF fury warrior. I dual wield lightsabers and wear medium armor. I work off of a resource called rage, but I can never have more 12 (I think) rage. I have 2 abilities that build rage. Battering Assault builds 4 (again, I think) rage, but has a 15 second cooldown. Assult builds 2 rage and has no cooldown. Neither of them do very much damage, but BA does do more than regular old Assault.

I then have any number of abilities that use rage and do various amounts of damage. I also have a few abilities that don't use any rage. Most of these have mid to long cooldowns, like Force Choke, which is a 3 second channel that does a decent amount of damage, but has a 1 minute cooldown.

Where it gets a little involved is that you hardly ever fight just one enemy. You almost always fight groups of 3 or 4 mobs at once. So as a rage using class, you have to decide if you should use a big damage, rage-using move to finish a mob off, or hit it with a couple of Assaults to build up some rage for the next mob.

I have heard that there is a possibility that the monk will work like this in WoW. If that turns out to be true, I don't see any way how I can not come back to WoW once MoP comes out.

I haven't even logged in to the game in over a month. I was playing TOR, but I lost interest in it as well. Well, that's not entirely accurate. I think the game is amazing, and it's a lot of fun, but I just have no desire to play an MMO right now. The only thing I can think of that is causing it, is my diagnosis of ADD and subsequent medication and life changes. I still enjoy playing other video games. Even games I can waste hours upon hours playing (like CIV games, and regular RPGs). I don't know why my brain has no interest in playing MMOs anymore, but it's weird. I only got to level 31 with my Sith Sorcerer, so it's not like I was really playing the game like an MMO. That said, the changes with MoP do look pretty cool, but I can't say I'm excited about them or anything.

From what I've read, that's basically what Monks play like. They have energy similar to rogues, and using that energy builds chi, which they use to power better moves.

Of course I could be totally wrong since I've not been paying much attention to monks.

So my Wall with TOR was the difficulty level curve that happens around 38-40. Some don't notice it, but I did on my Trooper (Healer) stuff became harder T.T

PvP is a toss up btw. You will either like it or not. ATM there is only 3 Warzones (battle grounds) and they can go either way. There is no level brackets in PvP (well there is) it is all lv 10-49s who Q up. All the 50s play together. So if one side is all level 10s going against 35-49 team...you are doomed. Even with the buff you get to equal the play, a higher level is going to roll a low level.

TOR was fun, I'll be back in it one day.

I cancelled TOR. Had fun, I like the game, but its too hard to find groups for stuff. It plays awesomely as a single player game though.

I'm back to wow (via scroll) for at least until D3 comes out. After that I can see myself cancelling wow until MoP arrives.
