A Strange Burst of Energy....Follow

I dunno why, but I've been on fire this week, in a good way.

I've felt kinda "burned out" on the game for quite awhile now.

Tuesday, I had a wisdom tooth and a baby tooth (yes I still had one of those at 32) removed, which required actual dental *surgery* and not just an extraction, so they put me under General.

First thing I did when I got home, after cleaning my mouth out? I sat down to play WoW. My dailies were already done; my mom did those while I was getting my teeth pulled.

So I was like "uh okay what am I gonna do?" so I loaded my Orc Warrior up. He was Level 35 at the time and I'm thinking "meh I'll use up his rested".

So I go over to Western Plaguelands, but.... I notice his Skinning and Herbalism is way behind; that's quite a few gold I'd be passing up. So I ask mom for some help, she brings her paladin who's got a mechano-hog and we go and catch him up (also took out a few arch dig sites along the way).

Then, I start leveling him.

When I logged off, some thirteen hours later, he's 48. With ~290 skill in Herb and Skinning (they were both 80 when I started). He's got WPL done, and EPL almost done, I plan on going to Felwood until 49 then Winterspring and then Blasted Lands next time I play him.

So that was Day 1.

Day 2, I get on early-morning and level my mom's hunter. She was 50 when I started, I wound up getting ten levels in ~4 hours. Then she got up and I got off her account so that she could do her usual daily stuff (especially now that her hunter can fly!) and then I get on my own account, and I'm fiddlin around and I notice I've got a 48 goblin mage. Meh... don't really feel like doing a MAGE of all things (I prefer melee classes).

.... heh, yeah right.

8 or so hours later, my Goblin Mage is now 59 and I'm asking mom to run me through Hellfire Ramparts. We do Ramparts and then Blood Furnace twice; now my little goblin mage is 61 with some nice dungeon drops.

Yesterday, was my first day back at work. They made the order short knowing I was still recovering from the dental surgery, so I got off work at noon (this rarely happens).

What do I do when I get home? I get on mom's Level 48 warrior. Oh wait, she's a human, and I want to change her to a draenei because draenei look cooler. lol. we decide to do that and the "Change Race" button isn't showing. So, I loaded up her 45 Gnome Warlock and saw that I had 4 archaeology digs right next to each other. Two hours later, that gnome's completely out of rested; and she gained 2 levelups. lol. Wasn't even planning on that!

Then I log onto her warrior, change her race, and then start getting to work. She was 48 when I started; by suppertime she's 52 and a half.

Fast-forward a few hours later, now she's level 60 with flying.

I look back on that and I'm thinking "damn! What has gotten into me!?" lol.

We've only got three characters left that can't fly yet: a 46 tauren priest, a 48 worgen warrior a 47 gnome warrior. We're going to quest the warrior and gnome with each other, the priest I'll likely burn his rested off this weekend in dungeon groups as a healer unless I get REALLY energetic and do questing with him too.

I dunno what came over me, mom's afraid I'm gonna burn myself out, but damn I was having FUN with that Prot Warrior last night. I was purposefully pulling groups of 5+ orange mobs in HFP and watching them all die, haha. It was fun, it has been a long time since I had that much fun questing, pounding away levels that fast. Prot Warriors are simply amazing low-level, wish I had tried that earlier.

I don't know if I find it amusing or disturbing that you are 32 and your Mom is doing your dailies for you. Do you still live at home?

I do, yes.

It is a mutually beneficial arrangement; both of my parents are starting to get old; mom has health problems so I help with bills and manual labor about the house, while they help in obvious financial ways. Mom's bone density problems makes it difficult for her to really do much of anything as far as hobbies go, so I got her into games like WoW. Better she do that and stay mentally sharp, rather than become a couch potato zombie, or worse, break bones trying to do anything physical.

She logs onto my account now and then to do my characters' dailies whenever she has extra time, or when I work long shifts that would make it difficult for me to find time to do it.

In return, I log onto her account and do things she doesn't like doing from time-to-time when I get extra time when she's not on.

Leave Lyr alone. His stories about his Mom playing WoW are some of my favorites, he clearly takes good care of his parents, and I'm quite certain he's doing his own laundry.

Leveling can definitely be addictive right now. Not only is it fast, but there's so much variety. Between dungeons, battlegrounds, and the new revamped more smoothly running quest zones, it's easy to keep going without getting too sick of any one zone or activity. It's a bit too far on the easy side for me, and I miss the days when a whole zone of lowbies would panic and then band together because Stitches was coming up the road, but for the most part, I wish it had always been like this.

Quite frankly, nowadays there are many families living with each other due to finances.

Don't know how you had the energy to play WoW after surgery. I was knocked out as well and I was completely out of it for about a day and a half. I think it's because I sort of woke up during the surgery so they had to really pump that stuff into me lol.

Just watch out for those scripted encounters, or the quest mobs that don't give experience. Things can get pretty painful when Victory Rush is taken away unexpectedly. Smiley: frown

Wow, nearly forgot about this thread, and I'm the one who started it. lol.

Anyways, small update.

Yesterday, mom and I took a pair of 48s out, and wound up reaching Level 60 so that's another pair of characters that now has flying. Today, I managed to put ~2mil xp on our alliance guild, made a bunch of armor for my rogue and druid, etc.

Maybe I just needed that break for awhile and now I'm back in the game? Who knows.

Either way, had a very good week despite the tooth removal.
