So I was thinking about how fun it would be if they introduced some legendary equipment that actually talks to you when you have it equipped. It would be cool if while you had the item equipped it whispered random stuff to you.

It would be funny if after a wipe it said: So with any luck I will get picked up by someone that isn't a noob.

Or after a kill it might say: That blood was better than your mother's cookies!

Would anyone else get a kick out of this?

Oh boy, a pair of pants that screams in agony because you go adventuring all the time and never shower.

One that repeats things you said like weeks ago.

"You're right, that tankulol does #$%^ing suck"

"healzforlif is right, we should kick leetnezdps from the raid group"

"I can't believe that Mage wasn't wearing pants..."

etc...

I'd prefer if your pets talked to you instead. Especially if they made a mechanical owl like the one from the original Clash of the Titans.

Yes!

And if the different pets had different personalities, that would be great, too.

By the way, I am still in the NaNoWriMo Procrastinator guild you created :).

Another game once came up with a super-sword that was a bit (heck, a bunch) of a braggart. It got old really quick.

I'm not even in that guild! But in my defense, I was not playing WoW during last year's NaNo. (Or any MMO, which I thought would make me more productive, but it was about the same.) Plus it's on my main server so I never have space in my character screen for feelthy alliance scum. ;) They are a great bunch of folks, though, hope all is well over there.

Intelligent weapons are nowhere near new; D&D games have had them since waaaay back.

There was this one awesome one in Neverwinter Nights (Underdark expansion) which wasn't actually a bad weapon either, esp when you find it way near the beginning of the game.

It had some cool comments now and then, but yet didn't pipe up TOO often that it was annoying.

I think in Everquest you could talk with your pet and make them say things. It was fun. You know what's funner though? Dual boxing and getting into an argument with yourself in your own group. Being the biggest jerk and the kindest and naive victim at the same time. Fun times.

I'd love to see an intelligent weapon that functioned like a subdued version of the old CritMod, whispering me the number of times I crit in a fight along with the damage done total by all those crits.
