new mac system reinstalled - lost main charactersFollow
i recently installed a new mac system (10.8) and finally got to start the game again. but my two main characters have gone to be replaced by build- your-new-characters.how can i get my old characters back?
That shouldn't be an issue of the system. That stuff is all saved on Blizz's end. Check to see if you're on the right server. If so, you may have a real problem on your hands(like getting hacked).

Yes, this is the thought that immediately comes to my mind as well. There should be an option to switch servers and that will bring you to a list of all of the servers. The list will also tell you if you have any characters on that server so you can easily find the correct one even if you don't remember the name of your server.
Thirding the server answer. With a fresh install (or after deleting the WTF folder I think), the game doesn't know what server you play on, so when you log in and it "assigns" you a server (if you don't bring up the list to pick yourself) it will probably just bring up some random server. Just click "change realm" at the top of where your characters would be and choose your server. Or the one that shows you have toons on it, like Morghast said, if you can't remember what server you were on.
