Good lord, is it Monday already? Where the hell did my weekend go?

I didn't get any goals accomplished. Hell, I didn't even get to smell my computer this weekend.

How did you guys do on your goals?

I plan to continue working on the Elders and maybe head to the Lunar Festival itself.

I *tried* to gain another Elder - the one in Undercity...as Alliance. After reading strategy for getting to this Elder, I sent my BE Pally in first on a reconnaissance mission. As noted the path is completely clear of NPCs from the entrance, through the courtyard, and straight back to where the elder is standing. As stated in my research, there is one level 85 roaming NPC in the area. I figured I'd use the strategy that worked in a similar locale: get as close as possible using the Pally "bubble" - die - run back and move closer to the elder - probably die again - rinse/repeat until I can rez and grab the coin.

As I slowly inched forward in the room where the elder is, I didn't see any Horde NPC, just a group of friendly holiday revelers and vendors, now joined by the new er "Love Festival" is it? NPC. Got all the way to the elder, clicked him and DEAD!

I expected to die but didn't expect to have to run from Timbuktu as a ghost. Anyway, returned, stayed ghosted and looked around; didn't see the Horde NPC but to be safe I rezzed as soon as I was able which was interestingly just outside the room. I *should* have rezzed next to the elder as planned, but didn't. Rezzed and BAM!!! I got hit by that NPC from around the corner!!! Gah. Decided at this point to try the strategy that worked for several people - fly in. To accomplish that, I need to be level 68 so I headed back to the Outlands WITH my new Snow Gryphon to try to level to 68 prior to the end of the Lunar Festival. Currently level 63.

After the Scholomance victory, I may poke my nose back into Strathmore and see if I can get any further there solo or *gasp* use the dungeon finder for the first time.

Put that on the back burner until the festivals are over.

RL - Grocery, laundry, installing new printer, connecting new monitor, sleeping - exciting stuff.

I seem to have a mental block re: the grocery. It was a "fast food weekend." No laundry over the weekend and no extraneous sleeping. Didn't connect my new monitor but did install a new printer. Spent a few hours at my mother's house. At this point in life those moments are the most precious and the most important activity of the weekend.

WOW: If I can get the computer fixed and play at all, that will count as a victory.

Score it as a tie. I got things more or less working, but didn't get to do more than log on and discover that I now have more downloads to run.

RL: Smiley: oyvey My ancient copy of XP had a hiccup and the disc has gone AWOL. Fixing things has been a bit of a headache, but I finally located my second backup iso.

In the end, I ended up buying a new motherboard, CPU, RAM, SATA drive and graphics card to feel like the change to Windows 7 was justified. I just couldn't face the endless patching for XP and saw no reason to 'upgrade' to Vista with Win 7 out. Silly me, I thought that I could skip the DVD drive, the old DVD RW worked well enough. Yep, the new boards don't support FDD cables and it was easiest to just go back and get a new one.

Now, I'm curious to see how WOW plays with newer hardware and the extra options presented by Win 7.

WoW - finished the elder event on one character yesterday by doing the dungeon runs for northrend, with a friend... who was collecting Love tokens or charms... which reminded me the events overlap... so I'm gonna burn out on events here again especially since the faire is back this week.

RL - got some cleaning taken care of, still a lot to go, really need to get a shelving unit set up to help organize the basement better.

Friday night should be wine & snacks, but my spouse will be out doing that with some of her friends instead, and I'll be home with the kittens having honey & peanut-butter sandwiches. The rest of the weekend will be busy with dinners we're having for friends at our house, so house-cleaning and food prep. Still have some paperwork to get through.
Friday night toast & honey, caught up on a few of my shows. Busy Saturday morning to see "Faust" At the Met in HD, then shopping, cooking, house-cleaning for dinner. Sunday clean-up, walk to Starbucks, and caught up on some shows.

WoW:
Might squeeze in some time this evening, but not sure what I want to accomplish. My 85 NE druid is still wearing ~i337 gear, so I would like to skin enough Savage Leather for my 80 human rogue to whip up some i377 Vicious Leather armor. Even more Savage Leather and Blackened Dragonscale required for my 85 dwarf hunter for Vicious Dragonscale armor to upgrade his ~i317 gear. Beyond that I might poke around on some of my other horde / alli toons, and actually do some questing in revamped zones that I haven't gone back through yet.
Took my 85 NE druid into Pale Roost to skin lots of Savage Leather and Dragonscales, and that was enough for my 80 rogue to buy and craft half of the Vicious Leather armor for my NElf. My 85 human warrior poked through a few of the Lunar Festival achievements, but didn't have time for anything else.

In-game: Maybe a couple LFR's and LFD's on main to get valor; do Firelands dailies for Marks. Alts: do mining, JC and transmutes. May sell some high-level enchants. Level up 82 Druid, get a little more gear--she keeps running out of mana healing Cata dungeons. I never had a problem in 'Nilla, BC or Wrath instances...

Real life: Have (a few) beers. Hit the gym tomorrow. Light back work, light chest work in view of heavy chest day Monday. Making either loin of pork or short ribs tomorrow. Gotta shop for that.

Add to this for "In-game": Do some PvP. I am teh suk at PvP. Bought a set of 377 (three peices anyways) and have a couple of 390's. Bought some Honor with my excess JP's. Lately I've been more survivable with the Resilience. But I need to L2P. max'd out on valor, so maybe some LFD's for loot and PvP. Maybe beg for an Arena partner and hopefully come across someone worse than me...

All I did was max out valor on main. Was sick Saturday, wasn't feeling up to anything. Yesterday, too. Really hurt my heavy benching this morning.

No PvP at all. No alts at all.

Did make a killer short ribs with daikon, though. Have the leftovers for lunch today. Yum!

I neglected to post goals on Friday but this weekend I put a few levels on various alts to gather grisly tokens on them for the DM Faire. On Sunday I cycled through almost a dozen characters just doing Darkmoon dailies and doing the Love dailies on my main. I also went out and 'farmed' some bracelets on my 80 Druid by just questing and now he's 82. You can't mail the charm bracelets but you can hand them from one character to another if you have more than one account. It's kind of annoying having three events going on all at once though I'm basically done with the Lunar festival for this year.

On Saturday evening we went and worked on some achievements in ICC 25. I was annoyed that they are going to move the time earlier though since it's always been a friend run and now he's moving it to accommodate a guild who usually fills out half of the group on these 25 man things who wants to run a DS raid on Saturday night.

I haven't been raiding DS at all since most of the raiders in my guild put WoW on hold to work on the Star Wars MMO. I've considered switching guilds but there aren't a lot of good ones on my server anymore (at least on Horde) and I don't want to change faction or jump servers. I could do LFR but the quality of players in them generally just annoys me. I've gotten spoiled playing with capable players and now I can only tolerate the bad ones in small doses.

As expected. Ran the MF dailies each day, finished my troll championship at the AT and started riding for Undercity - Four more "days" to that one. Not sure if there's anything after that, but after all this work I'll keep pounding the dailies until I can get the mount.

Finished the Elders, really don't feel like any more festivals right now, so probably get back to Heroic dungeon-crawling and raiding for now. Time to decide whether I'll start grooming the L25 rogue. I'm tempted to just start a warrior or priest with an eye toward almost all dungeons and BGs. I really need to work on my PVP skills, and a tank or healer never has to worry about finding a dungeon party - or wait very long.

No WoW. Had a nice dinner and started researching how to build computers instead. I always knew I was a geek! This is a lot more fun than I expected, even though I still have no idea what I'm doing. At least I have a lot of time to figure it out (no money yet).

Sunday was as expected, but I had more time for that computer building stuff than expected, which is becoming obsessive.

That said, my parents are going to be gone the next few days, which might make WoW more likely! (I'm 35, so it's not an issue of them "letting" me play or not, just that I tend to get into their stuff more when they're around).
