Quick question, because I need to finish some homework, and I don't want to forget to ask, but; what add-ons do you like to use?

I was looking through the add-on selections from a site and saw that there are just a ton of 'em. The one I downloaded and am very fond of right now is the TomTom add-on, it helps a great deal with quests. The one I am not to favorable on is the Auctioner one; it just clutters my auction house, but mainly because I have no idea what do with it XD

What one's do you love? and which ones do you hate?

Auctioneer is a great one if you will be selling OR buying on the AH for mats down the road. BUT at first you will be hosed by misleading prices. You need to do scans of the whole AH occasionally to get a weighted price for items over time. The more scans you have the "better" your prices get for your server, so you can spot when something is truly a bargain compared to traditional prices. IE I just scored a blue level 20ish weapon for 2 gold that normally sells for 200 gold, I have no one that low but I can flip it back on there for a quick and easy profit.

I use altoholic which helps me manage my materials across characters on the server. I have one that holds all cloth mats, one that holds all herbs... etc, sometimes I get items mixed up when I'm in a rush and it's super easy to see when I've got items on multiple characters and address it.

Not much beyond that for suggestions here, I don't run dungeons very much due to my connection so I don't find i need dungeon / raid related addons.

I like Auctionator, gogo pet and gogo mount, Deadly Boss Mods, and Atlas Loot. There are more, but these ones get used a fair bit.

Essential: Xperl and Bartender! I just don't think I could play with the default UI anymore at all.

Convenient: Deadly Boss Mods and GTFO.

Most interesting: Reforge Lite. Just got it the other day and so far I'm impressed.

Bartender. I can't live without bartender. I recently switched to a game that takes place in a galaxy far far away and I realized how much I miss Bartender.

Also came across an add-on called LootGrind. Really has grown on me. It basically lets you adjust what quality items to autoloot, or loot items that are worth more than X amount or more. It's absolutely great when grinding items for rep, keeps for having your bag get filled up with gray junk or cheap white items.

In light of a recent thread on the class forums, I'd no longer suggest Auctioneer as someone's first AH scanner/interface skin. Some of the bundled features are really great once you're in full-on production mode with your crafting profs, but e.g. Auctionator does 90% of what Auctioneer does, and is much simpler. And when/if you do get seriously into crafting, something like Trade Skill Master is probably in the cards anyway.

I would suggest getting some simple AH skin, though - the default UI is not necessarily intuitive when it comes to stack sizes/pricing and displaying WRT bids/buyouts, and not using an addon can cause you to make mistakes, at a stage in your WoW career when the gold means most to you.

Beyond that, the first things I'd recommend are the ones that allow you to customize the look/feel of your UI. An actionbar replacement (I use Bartender), extended player/party/raid frames (Shadowed), a one-bag addon to streamline your inventory (TBag). These days, you can probably survive with the default outfit manager, but something like Outfitter that adds value on top of it might be worth a look.

If you're going to heal in a group, get one of the addons targeted for that job (Vuhdo). If you're going to raid, get a boss mod (DXE). Recount/Skada are definitely optional for actual group content, but they can help you during practice.

-47 different successful auctions? Click "open all" and get a total of the gold collected at the end.
-All contacts grouped by categories
-Choose a person from the list, Alt-click to send them an item from your bag automatically.

Least Favorite: Whatever that addon is that people use to spam guild invites.

Hate it. Smiley: mad

For those looking for it, the name is actually GrindLoot. I'm going to try it, though - I hate getting "inventory full" messages with bags full of junk.

My essentials are Carbonite (I get lost easily), GTFO (Its hard enough in an unfamiliar dungeon and I sometimes have trouble seeing everything that's going on), Bartender. '

I really don't like auctioneer - it makes me feel like I'm not in control. Has anybody tried AuctionLite? Any comments?

Yup, I've been happy with it for a while now. Smiley: grin

It's a nice tool for people who don't really need all the stats and functionality of the more heavy-duty AH addons.

It has a good (I.E. better than the standard AH) interface for buying and selling items, the ability to scan, and sort items, etc. It'll track past prices so you'll know whether that thing you picked up in the field is worth more as a AH item or vendor trash. As well as recommending prices for an item based on historical data.

I use both Auctioneer and Auctionator. Auctionator lets me do a quick lowest price posting, as well as check for the cheapest mats. Auctioneer is used for my banker's daily buying and selling for profit.

If you are a healer, Vuhdo was mentioned as a healing raidframe. Personally I use Grid and Clique.

I love Power Auras for giving me visual queues when spells are available. Some spells I want to cast every time they are up.

Adibags gives me one big bag.

XPerl let's me position a focus frame (for the tank) and his target, as well as my target.

SheepMonitor is great at watching your Crowd Control, and GTFO helps you stay out of the bad stuff.

I use more, but those are the main ones.

For UI, Bartender, Xperl (mine/target's frames), Bagnon.

For raids/dungeons -90% of what I do- DBM, Recount, GTFO. GTFO is awesome and has really grown on me.

For quality-of-life type stuff, Postal, GupPet, Auctionator.

When I started playing a few years ago, I used QuestHelper then later switched to Carbonite. I haven't used either in at least a year or so and don't really miss them. Blizz integrated most of their features well enough already now. I used to really like the Carbonite map but for months I couldn't get it to work right anyway and just uninstalled. The map and quest log were really the only parts I liked a lot anyway.

Don't think I could play without Pitbull and Dominos.

Wouldn't want to play without Raven and Bagnon.

Also use Action Bar Saver, Chinchilla, Phanxchat, and Align on all characters.

Mostly use mouseover macros for healing, but I like to have Clique on my healers too.

Does anyone know of an auction add-on that lets you cancel multiple auctions at one time instead of clicking line by line in order to re-list?

Thanks!

The ONE add-on I can't play without is HearKitty. It's a vital part of my Feral Druid gaming experience. Once you try it, your playstyle changes. Instead of looking at the combo points, you hear them. Losing that add-on is like losing one of your senses.

On top of that comes BadKitty, Postal, Auctionator, IceHUD, MSBT, TukUI and all that stuff. I'm actually running a pretty lightweight setup, primarily thanks to TukUI. ~20MB memory used on add-ons while playing.

Blizzard changed things awhile back to attempt to fight botting and you can longer cancel/post multiple items in a single click. Addons like Auctionator and TradeSkillMaster make it much easier, but you will need to click for each cancellation regardless.

I somewhat recently got into healing, and since I'm just a clicker, I have found Healium to be great for me.

Very interesting to hear about various add-ons and how they enhance the game.

I currently have one very simple add-on that displays coordinates. I can't recall the name, but I was very happy to find it.

As I become more familiar with WoW over time I may look into some of the other add-ons suggested.

Amen!! I have the guild invitation option turned off so I don't get the automated ones, but still generally get 2-4 non-automated invitations each time I play. I recently created a macro to say basically no thank you so I can just click the button and continue on. I've been waiting for a chance to use it but since I created the macro I haven't received any guild invitations. Smiley: laugh

Check out TomTom, for us newbies I think it is really great.

Are there any good Hunter (BM/MM) add-ons?
#20 Feb 03 2012 at 12:16 PM Rating: Decent
•Deadly Boss Mods
•Omen Threat Meter
•Grid
•OmniCC
•PallyPower
•Natur EnemyCastBar

Developers spend many hours scripting a boss just do discover that the encounter has became trivial by using an addon.(see AVR)

Seriously, i don't use add-ons and if we wipe because of this, we have bigger problems.

For a hunter-specific addon, especially if you don't use a HUD, Serenity seems to be pretty nice. It's mainly a focus bar, but it also tracks your hunter-specific cooldowns (in a place you're already watching) so you don't have to have a separate NeedToKnow or other tracker configured.

I've heard of that one here and there. What does it do?

Just like the TomTom GPS service in RL... offers you co-ordinates to find your quest objectives etc easier.

I use all the standard raid mods. Although thats only on my raiding toons.
The two mods i use the most, and on all of my toons are gatherer and Altoholic.
i was always looking for something. not finding it and so buying one on the AH
or spending time farming it up only to find one in the bags of one alt of another a few days later.
gatherer is just too helpful when i go out on a farming trip, which i do often just to relax
