I think being able to have an "Elmo" pet would be pretty hilarious. And his special way of killing mobs is with cuteness...and singing Elmo's Song all the time :P

Anyone else have any funny or zaney ideas?

*Sorry I am bored on my puter watching Elmo's world with my child* :P

My kids will have kids of their own before I ever let them watch Elmo and stuff.

What's wrong with Elmo? Sure he can be a bit annoying, but at least he's always happy and cheerful.

I try to come up with goofy names for my hunter's pets. I have a turtle named Shelley, a glow bug (part of the wasp family) named Glowstick, and a cat named Nermal after the kitten in the Garfield comics. I remember back in the day on my old hunter, I was pretty obsessed with Fullmetal Alchemist and I decided to name all my hunter pets after the 7 deadly sins. I only ever got one of the black widow spiders for her though, and I named it Wrath.

I guess for the non-rents they see Elmo and think "hiss"! But little do they know... XD the things parents will do for their kids XD Especially if it means peace and quiet for only 5 minutes :P

I'm not a parent and I don't have that reaction. I guess it's because I've seen worse kids shows than Elmo lol.

Pretty much this. People say "my kid's never going to watch that kid's show crap." But they tend to rethink that when their kid is screaming and the only thing that will shut them up is bright colors and happy sounds - i.e. kid's shows.

Parents say a lot of things before they're parents. Not a lot of them work out that way.

Yeah I used to be one of those parents :P I thought since I used to be a preschool teacher I had it all figured out. Little did I know that the biological bonds to your child are much stronger than those of an educational one XD.

So ELMO it is!

Elmo (or any Sesame Street for that matter) I'll take over the innane Dora/Diego crap.

/cringe

Teletubbies... drugs alone can't explain this.

I like the idea of having an NPC companion who I can build rep with who in turn fleshes out the story and provides quests. Someone who can help me craft or who I can send off to sell all the junk in my bags.

Which is probably why I play SWTOR...

Granted I haven't watched Dora, but I think the idea is neat. The main point of the show is to teach kids Spanish, right? When kids are young, it's a lot easier for them to learn languages than it is when you're in high school and beyond.

Teletubbies though, they scare me.

I'm not sure where you do it, but if you want a fuzzy and totally annoying companion, get a Pandaren monk. You don't see them often, but they make me want the ability to kill someone else's companions.

Great, we could go to the AH and have it jammed with those things in addition to the blasted singing flowers and Pandaren monk pets. I want the flowers in particular to get flagged for PVP after 5 minutes, so I can take inspiration from a certain NPC:

The premise is great, yeah. The execution, though? Not so much.

The show is made up almost exclusively of moments like this:

Which reminds me of what I saw someone yelling in the middle of the AH/Bank area in SW the other night: "Everyone get OFF your birds!" That goes in my book of "Online phrases you don't hear in RL."

I'm still irked I can't get my raptor hatchling back until level 85! Smiley: mad

Funny thing is after 2 years of Chinese I bet my daughter speaks more than I do these days. Smiley: lol Debating an Immersion program for preschool too.

Anyway, back on topic. I'd have Thomas as a pet, he'd run things over. Or stop and watch and have a moral dilemma, either way would be amusing...
