Eh? O.o

@Noc: Aww, did you get left all alone in your guild? =/
#80 Jan 24 2012 at 2:29 PM Rating: Good
Which guild? lol I had removed my toons from Theo's server because he had stopped playing, the guild I'm in on Fenris, is my personal guild... so it's pretty much just me haha

Oh I see. I thought you were still there.
#82 Jan 25 2012 at 10:07 AM Rating: Good
Nah, both him and Feyras abandoned me... the buttheads.

Maybe I'll make a toon on Proudmoore just to stalk you! I need someone to stalk!

Yeah glad I keep my identity sealed here on WoW. Stalkers of any kind freak me out! I think that is the parental side of me though... Have fun stalking Pigtails! :D

#84 Jan 25 2012 at 11:25 AM Rating: Good
Hey I'm not the stalker, Noc is!

You could try that, but right now about the only time I play WoW is Saturday evenings for a Firelands run to finish my legendary. I'm a 1/4 of the way through the last stage, yay!
#85 Jan 25 2012 at 12:19 PM Rating: Good
I think Lillitha was telling me to have fun stalking you lol

I MAYBE have been able to come on after work or when I have the chance outside of classwork. Other than that, I don't have time. Too busy trying to physically and mentally prepare myself for the physical abilities test for the local PD Smiley: frown

Oooh, you're going to be a cop? That's awesome. We need more people like you to be cops. There's too many jerk face cops out there.
#87 Jan 25 2012 at 2:11 PM Rating: Good
Trying at least! I want to eventually get into their homicide division to get into investigations as that's what I ultimately want to do for a living. Tried the test once already but the dummy drag killed me. I'm hoping it'll be a bit easier this time now that I know what to expect and have been trying to build up my upper body strength a bit more =)

And I agree. We have way too many idiotic officers out there unfortunately. A lot of those cops are the ones that "sit on their high horse" types. Kind of sad.

A cop who stalks? Ummm? Lol. Joking. Well good luck! I have relatives who are police officers. All I can say is cardio, cardio cardio!

re: Dummy Drag

Remember not to stand rigidly upright, but lean back a little while you're pulling. That way the weight will rest more on your chest and not on your arms and shoulders. It's what I try to tell the younger, smaller females during instruction to help them, though it is still helpful to pretty much everyone.

Thanks for the tip lolgaxe! Yeah, I can pretty much do that. Just a lot of strain on the arms. Wish I could carry him on my back though (with me being short as well, he'd still be touching the ground lol), as I have no issues carrying heavy stuff on my back. Gave my fiancee a piggyback ride around the living room just to see if I could carry him lol (and no... not that type of piggyback ride ><).

Do women get certain benefits when applying? Over here, if a woman applies for the academy she's practically guaranteed to get in. It's almost as bad as when someone of Middle-eastern skin tone applies. Those guys get a personal coach and a "become a police officer for free" card.

You can tell I'm not bitter that I didn't get in, right?

It was actually a blessing in disguise. You get a six-month quarantine or suspension from applying if you fail the test, so I decided to apply for teacher education in the meantime and found that I liked it a lot.

Better work hours and pay as well. Especially the work hours. No work on holidays, no graveyard shifts and no overtime because of some hippies protesting.

Your teachers make more money than your police? Not positive, but I think it's the opposite here, and you don't even need a college education to be a cop.

Really depends on where you are, it "Seems" around here that you can't decide to run a hotel without a college education in hotel and resort management... what happened to deciding you wanted to do something and figuring out what you needed to achieve it without a $20K plus education paper.

The whole college and high school thing is a bit different here, but both the police and teacher education are bachelor degrees so you don't need a college degree to get in (the education is college).

Not necessarily. Granted, women and minority races do get a minor leg up over, say a white male, just because of the equality within the department and the "no discrimination" policy that a majority of departments have in place. Let's face it, over here, a majority of the police officers are white males.

Not sure if they have a quota that is needing to be met with having a certain number of minority officers though (wouldn't surprise me if they do). Being a female does help though (so I guess what I previously said isn't entirely true and there is benefit from it). When they were putting me into the system, they didn't have a "Mixed" option in regards to race. I had to choose to be either caucasian or asian. So naturally, I had them put down asian, since it is the minority.

We don't get a become an officer for free card as we still have to work for it, but it doesn't hurt.
