STEER CLEAR OF HELLBOUND HEARTS!Follow

#1 Jan 19 2012 at 4:10 PM Rating: Sub-Default
Heya fellow WoWers:
Just a helpful tip if you play Horde on the Hyjal(US) Server. STAY AWAY from the guild Hellbound Hearts. I personally spent about the last six months raiding (If you can call it that...)with this guild.
What you will find if you go there is: A Guild/Raid leader that generally does not know fight strategies beyond the basics and/or what someone else has told her. YES, her... She will rotate one of FOUR toons into raids for pieces of gear, but will continually claim she HAS to because someone else in the group is incompetant. Yet, the previous fights and the following ones get downed with those same ppl.
The "martyr" mentality is a constant with her, and while she enjoys having all the power of the GL/RL position, she complains CONSTANTLY about the duties that come along with it. there are offcers, but they say/do nothing as far as the "guild politics" go, unless it's to jump on the bandwagon of something one of about 3 ppl say. They are/have been promoted on the basis of popularity with the guild leader, not on knowledge or play skill. This becomes PAINFULLY obvious while in raids. Generally, most of the raiders will show to raids late and/or unprepared. The loot most participants receive is unused to it's full potential.(I ALWAYS held the best DPS for the entire guild,on 2 melee toons, even when in a lower ilvl of gear.)
The GL will also complain IN WHISPERS to players about other players' bad performance & her lack of gear reception. She will deny this in open forum, of course, and claim to be the most humble person in WoW, but fact remains she had 3 ppl rolling on an item THEY could have used in this week's LFR for her Tank set. Keep in mind, this person shcuks the tank responsibility whenever possible, and when she does it, she generally has the OTHER tank do the "harder" bosses that have any movement or "o no" moments. I.E.- COMPLETE strafe failure on Hagara every time.
The best part though, whenever someone stands up to this person and tries to point out the issues to get them out in the open, or has a complaint of their own, she turns it into an "I do so much for this guild", "I never get anything", "you always get everything", and "If this game is just going to be about the gear-I'll uninstall" poor me situation. BUT this person spent an afternoon this week building a spreadsheet of previous recent loot drops, dropped one line whines in O chat until she got a response and then kept them going for 2 days...Yeah, don't sound like loot is a concern to her at all...

In short: Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this guild!! They have NEVER downed a heroic boss in BoT/BWD/FL/DS. The 2 raid grps are made up of the same 6-8 ppl on alts for the second grp. The grps are a little above mediocre as far as progression and skill, but noone will research farther than "what this guy told me". You may get lucky with loot drops in a week, but be prepared to listen to how "you always get stuff" the next week, even if nobody else in party can use what you get.
If you do join this mess: You will work harder than needed in some game aspects, due to the guild itself only being lvl 18.(Yes, they are lazy too, & don't do much beyond a cpl raids each week to try to lvl it.) I.E.-no farming bonus, big raid cauldron, etc. etc. You will be forced to watch/listen to hypocritic statements by an Ambien/Adderall addled control freak, BUT don't DARE say anything even in a joking manner, any facts you state will be denied, lied about, twisted back on you, or redirected to irrelevant fringe subjects to take the heat off the truth. NO MATTER HOW WELL YOU DO, you will be told you are not working hard enough while others continually fail around you w/o consequences.

I know it's a wall of text, but if you took the time to read it, I hope it has saved you valuable time and effort. LOK'TAR OGAR!!

This really isn't the place for your ***** fest. If you really want to warn people on your server, go post this on the server forum on battle.net. The likelihood of there being anyone on Hyjal who is a regular poster or lurker is pretty slim.

Sounds like an old guild leader I had, HE had a god complex he could do no wrong, he knew I had an hour for a run, and 3 hours later he was still "leading" us in circles in the dungeon despite it being an easy left side, right side left side circle to get at what was needed (the swamp of sorrows dungeon) Caused drama leading to a kick which was the best thing that ever happened for my wow time as I found a helpful guild, wanting to work together, and some of us still keep in touch despite 3 guild collapses in the meantime.
Drama llamas are to be avoided for your own sanity.

I've actually been leveling an alt on Hyjal horde side recently. Never even heard of this guild. If they were so bad, why would you stay there for six months?

For fun, or boredom, I pulled all the capitalized locked/bolded words and posted them here; excluding abreviations and the word WoW. There is a secret message there I'm certain of it:

"Stay away, yes, four has constantly, painfully, I always in whispers. They other complete never, but dare, no matter how well you do. Lok'tar ogar!"

I bet if you watched the Wizard of Oz while listening to the Dark Side of the Moon after reading this, the answer will reveal itself.

I have yet to run my first raid, but it seems to me that hanging around for six months with a train wreck like the poster describes smacks more than a little of advanced masochism.

On the other hand, I also wonder about the actual motivation of someone who'd post a rant like than as his very first post on an open forum. The name may say a lot.

And this is one reason why I haven't become involved in raids in over 7 years in EQ and don't plan to in WoW. Waaaaayyyyy too much drama and "politics." I'm talking both sides of this coin: a guild that may have some issues (only one side of the story here) and the poster complaining.

There's a tool now where you can run raids as part of a more or less random group without having to worry too much about long term drama. So don't count raiding out completely because of that.

Hello from Hellbound Hearts. Due to the fact that this person feels like posting this wall of text all over the internet I will address it.

Shadownasty was picked up as an unguilded out of pug raid the very first time my guild (which was originally just a gathering of friends) raided BOT/BWD. Since then they have proven to be a decent dps and someone who pushes hard for progression and perfection in his own group. Occasionally and quite regularly a bit too hard for a guild that claims to be fun and relatively casual.

Detailed loot records were held and referenced regularly, alts that did not ordinarily run with a group were never given a priority and loot rules went to open roles on non tier pieces when a pug was present. The best was and is being done to provide a friendly fun and fair raid environment in this guild and the hypocrisy of this post (as well as the amount of places this person is posting it) is bordering on just being silly.

If any person has any questions regarding this particular situation I would be more than happy to address them in game and answer or explain to the best of my ability or you are more than welcome to ask any of the guild officers... though if you do I apologize in advance for the colorful language and lack of diplomacy skills they will exhibit in regards to this situation.

It was a guild decision to remove this person from our ranks due to outstanding conflict, discord and negativity as well as disrespect.

Cheers.

To be fair, a couple folks did reply on topic to the OP. This is still some lame *** drama, though.

Wait, this isn't the novice guide to HFP ... steer clear of helboar?

Of course, that reminds me of bacon, thus of derails and so of the usual derails. In search of quality, handcrafted, artesanal +1s I am forced to ask:

What kind of bacon do they have where every you live now?

And in homage to the usual:

If you have to pick one (and only one) of the following, which one do you pick?
Bacon:6 (26.1%)
Beer:3 (13.0%)
Bewbs:11 (47.8%)
A tinfoil hat so that I can foil law enforcement's efforts to get the dirt on Mazra and Someproteinguy!:3 (13.0%)
Total:23

Ladies are free to substitute accordingly but please explain the substitution with all the gravity and seriousness the question deserves. Smiley: nod

Bacon, and while the beer and boobs choices are distracted by their choices I kill them and take those as well.

I choose #4 since the other options were clearly a trick.

Choose between bacon, beer and bewbs. Pfff, yeah right.

http://www.pakin.org/complaint wouldn't load, so I had to reply to the wall o'text and drama some other way while I'm getting used to this new mouse.

Beer is tempting, but if I drink beer I'll want bacon and bewbs. Bacon is tempting, but the salt is going to make me want beer (see note infra). Maz and SPG are on their own, so that isn't even an option. Bewbs, generally safe (unless reworked using French implants), they also give one a reason to avoid getting too drunk and to avoid packing on too much weight.

Bring the Mossberg with the breecher, but it is going to break stealth. I'm old enough to know the badger game and its variants. You'll encounter at least one locked door (the ones here are steel security doors) and walls here run to more than 12 inches of brick. On the other hand, I'm tired and old so there is nothing to worry about if you get in. Ignore Rule #3.

Of Bacon and China: Around Beijing, one still gets old fashioned bacon that is heavily smoked and heavily salted. It generally has a good flavor but the texture is firm and it has to be hand sliced so it doesn't lend itself to being fried as crisp strips. It may be necessary to prep it with boiling water to reduce the amount of salt.

Odd question. It's not like there's more than one type of bacon. This one.

I'll need lolgaxe to stop trying to get the Mossberg out of the arms room and post the pic. Yep, can't get to wordpress from here, at least today.

no eaty porky here...

we eat this type of bacon.

then there's always this type of bacon (which baffles most Canadians.. we don't call it "Canadian bacon"... those weird Americans. for the record, we call it "back bacon").

Ugh, I never liked using any of the Mossberg line. Not that they're bad weapons, as they're really good at what they're meant to do, but it's completely in the opposite direction of the training I'm most accustomed to. I'll stick to my M24 SWS or, in a pinch, Browning 9mm SAP.
