So have you ever run a dungeon several hundred times in the hope of getting a specific drop and it just is not happening?
Have you ever then run that same dungeon on another character and then obtained the drop... but you can't use it cause you are not on your Priest but on your Shaman?

All the time, I'm sure I'll catch old crafty on an alt when the fishing daily is to catch young crafty...

Yup. When Cata first came out and I was playing my druid it took me forever to get heroic level bracers. I'm still kind of irked by that, because out of all the 7 or 8 heroics we had at first, there was only one 346 caster leather bracers. Agi leather bracers had two, cloth bracers had more than two, I forget how many different types I looked up. I can't remember specifically how long it took me to get those replaced, but it took me three days to hit 85 and I think it was at least a couple months after that before I finally got my 346 bracers. And that was after I started raiding and hadn't gotten the 359 bracers either. Took me quite a while to get those as well, lol.

154 runs for barons mount
good 60 or 70 for the raven lord
and im still going after the mount in kara and thats just long cause it can onlt be done weekly.
as for items im going after the shoulders in HoT for my hunter which never actually drop on my hunter and the 2 str trinkets from WoE and HoT for my DK and warrior which have yet to drop

Don't hate me... on my priest the first time I ran Magister's Terrace I got the pet. Then I did it on heroic the first time, I got the mount. =x
So... kinda like some epic dragon mount dropping while I'm out and about with one of my druids rather than a toon that actually uses mounts instead of being one? This would be too cruel to ever happen to me.

Over a few year period I tried many many times at Barons mount in Stratholme as many many people have as well. With no luck.
I temporarily went to the dark side of the Alliance and the first and only time I ran Startholme with a random pug on said Alliance toon, it dropped. Didn't win it, wouldn't of mattered anyway, stopped running Alliance shortly there after.
Been trying for the resto Shaman shoulders from the new 5mans (the middle boss on the Thrall escort one) some 25 plus times and no drop yet. First run on my Hunter they drop. Sometimes I really really do hate WoW.

I actually got those shoulders pretty quickly for my resto shaman but that dang trinket that drops off last boss where you become the rouge trickster guys and sneak around? I've still not seen it drop and I've run that heroic 24 times :(

I stopped trying at 186 :(
I ran old ZG many, many times (every reset for many months) and never saw the Tiger mount drop, and I still run Kara frequently in hopes of seeing that mount drop. Of course I haven't gotten those items on alts either.
A few months ago I was doing a lot of BC heroics farming various gear on various characters and I know there were a few pieces that would just keep dropping for the wrong character over and over again. I still need a few things but I've been focusing on other things lately.
I think the biggest frustration has been the holiday event special drop items. It has gotten to the point where I only do the event bosses on my main so I don't end up like a while back when I had the Headless Horseman's mount drop on two alts but my main still needs it. I usually only see the HH sword drop for alts that can't equip swords as well.
My biggest gripe of bad luck this expansion has been my lack of shoulder upgrades. My main is geared enough to run Dragon Soul and yet is still wearing the 333 rep reward shoulders. I have seen shoulders drop but I always lose the roll. It's gotten to be somewhat of a joke by now but it's frustrating as heck. I need the Mantle of Time for my Priest. Every time I run with my Shaman it has dropped. That is 12 times so far. I have run it with my priest about 14 times with no drop. It just feels like the program is teasing me.
Blizzard's protectiveness of shoulder slot items has to be one of the most frustrating things in the game. Same thing pretty much with helmets.
I kinda understand their reasoning about shoulders being very prominent and all, but I shouldn't have to gather honor points to fill the slot with a PvP piece or spend JPs on a 346 blue item when the current content requires me to have 387 gear.

Yeah, shoulders can be a bit ridiculous. One of my RL friends that joined my guild was stuck with pvp shoulders on his dps warrior for months. We raided Firelands on Friday nights, and the poor guy didn't replace them until a week or two before 4.3 came out.
My major pain this expansion though has been bracers and wands. At least prior to 4.2 anyways. I had trouble getting those on all three of my casters. My DK I didn't bother trying to gear her up until 4.3 hit anyways because she's my gatherer toon. I really like the look of the new heroic plate gear, I just wish it had less damn expertise on it! Or was it hit? I forget. Probably would help if I didn't still have the expertise trinket from BWD though. Even with reforging as much expertise and hit off as I can, I'm still over cap on both.

Ran Karazhan every week for 3 months, without seeing the druid token (gloves, off of Curator) even drop.
Finally said eff it and bought the jp ones.
