Finally got my replacement monitor from newegg yesterday. Got home last night and installed WoW (twice, don't ask, I'm an idiot) and got on for the first time in almost 3 weeks.

Yeah, I could still hear Skyrim calling, but it was nice to be back on WoW.

Especially since I was able to play with all graphics settings on ultra and at 60 fps with no lag anywhere.

I'm looking forward to my first raid now.

Raiding with a new monitor can actually be disconcerting. All of the things you have been taking for granted are now suddenly awesome looking. Get ready to be distracted!

Congrats!

Prepare to be blown away. Smiley: nod

(seriously it took me like 2 weeks to stop looking at the pretty pixels and start playing the game again... Smiley: lol)

Grats Juggy! Just make sure to run a few heroics first to get used to the new awesomeness. Smiley: grin

So I did an HoT heroic last night, got the one with the echoes of the faction leaders.

Was doing Sylvannas, and the purple stuff on the ground when she summons the ghouls wasn't showing up.

Anybody know which graphics setting controls ground effects?

Everything else looks amazing. I didn't just get a new monitor, I got a whole new computer, and man is it an upgrade.

I didn't know the engineering flying mounts put out smoke. I didn't know the night sky had stars, I assumed it did, but I had never seen them.

And the best part is, all settings on ultra, 60 FPS in Org, and 0 lag.

Projected textures and/or particle density control ground effects. I have a crappy computer so have to turn all my settings to the minimum except those two so I can actually see the fire on the ground.

Yup, Projected textures should do it. And GTFO is great, even if you can't tell or see what you're standing in.

I'll have to see what my projected textures is set to.

It was wierd, the first time she summoned the ghouls I didn't see the purple stuff.

The next time I saw a little bit of it, and the last time I saw a little bit more.

Yes, we went through 3 rounds of ghoul summons, even with dying to the purple stuff I still did more overall damage than the other 2 DPS combined.

They were bad.
