Man, ever since I bought Skyrim I have been doing horrible at these weekend goals.

http://wow.allakhazam.com/forum.html?forum=21&mid=1325861896158415871

There's the thread from Friday. I didn't even get my one goal accomplished. I spent the entire weekend watching playoff football and playing Skyrim. I'll just wait for the new monitor to get back before I finish setting up the new computer.

So how did you guys do on your goals?

WOW: The air quality in Beijing was less than pleasant, encouraging me to play a good bit of WOW. The alternate DK hit Outland (from 66 to 69). That gave me a needed kick to try heirlooms on the Warlock; Finkelstein went from being a level 6 bank gnome to level 32 and rising. The rapid rise of the Warlock caused me to push the Hunter from 54 to 63 using the Druid's hand me down leather heirloom set since the Hunter is the one with Inscription. Yay!

RL: Fortunately, there is WOW to let me relax and stay out of the Beijing winter. Even inside the air quality was a bit rough on my eyes and nose. I forget, aspirin is one of the food groups, right? Smiley: disappointed

Well I survived another weekend and got my death knight to Northrend, which is a lot farther than I've even got one before so that's awesome. Other than that we were stocking up on groceries as every-place seemed to be having sales, and am finally not feeling sick for the first time in like 3 weeks. Let's hope this week continues on the up-swing. Smiley: grin

WoW - got to within 3 bars of '84 on the druid, guess that'll get the focus to hit '85 this week. Soloed a couple northrend dungeon regulars just for the quests to clean them up out of my log as I don't like bailing on quests, helped a friend ding one of their low level characters during another dungeon run.. I might go run the rest of the northrend instances just to kick out the achievement for completion anyway.

RL - unexpectedly went to an outdoor film festival yesterday, was good fun, couple of the vids were *yawn* but the bulk made it worthwhile. Got the house cleaned up mostly.... forgot to take out a turkey Saturday so that's in the fridge now waiting for me to put it in the oven.

Gonna do some more Darkmoon dailies tonight and tomorrow (Saturday).
Might be doing an Ulduar 25 raid on Saturday night - most likely on an alt.
Gonna try to fit in some non-WoW game time though not sure on which other game.

I've got a lot of alts now in the BC/Northrend zone levels and I just haven't felt much like playing in those zones. I'm having more fun in the 1-60 areas but I don't have many main server alts left in those areas anymore. So, I will probably play an alt or two but I really don't know which ones yet.

I'd like to hit some more randoms on my main but that really depends on other people since I don't really like pugging (at least until I have done the content enough to feel confident doing it).

I will have a bit more time this weekend since my sister is out of town so I won't be doing the long drive out to visit family on Sunday like I usually do.

I did DM dailies on Saturday on all of my non-bank characters on my main server. I played some King's Bounty. I got through about half of an Ulduar 25 on Saturday night that was going slow because so many people were inexperienced in there (or with raiding in general). I put several levels on my lowbie elemental Shaman and hit 60 on him. I put some levels on my lowbie Priest and hit 40 on him. I did BT, Gruuls, Mags and Kara with friends. I dragged some alts through dungeons.

I did not do any randoms on my main.

Pretty much stole time as I was able - and as expected. Got may main to Silveroon championship In the argent Tournament, starting on Orgrimmar. Don't know how long I can stay on it, though. Looks like just repeating the same quests as for the first one, and I really don't have that great a boredom tolerance.

Jousting victories now seem pretty mundane, expected, even. so WHERE'S THE FUN?

I Still need about 10 gear points for the cata heroics, still haven't fully finished the Mt Hyjal stuff. Need to run more random dungeons and hope I can somehow pick up enough gear to e me over that magic threshold

Question: Say you're just under the threshold gear level for the heroics. The system won't let you queue solo. Wold it still block you if you were part of a group (guildies, for example) where the others were high enough?

Using the dungeon finder you cannot queue if any member is too low geared for it. That doesn't stop you from getting a guild group or group of friends together and going to the dungeon portal manually though.

If you've been running dungeons see how your justice points are doing. I was capped for who knows how long at 4K points, finally went and had a look to what I could spend them on and walked away with 3 items at 378 item level which boosted my gear score enough for just about everything except the newest (still got some 312 level items sadly but as I add dungeon runs that'll change in a hurry.

Played my 85 a whole bunch, got a lot done. Tanked 3 heroics successfully (w00t!). Leveled fishing and first aid to 525, got the achievements. Got Therazane reputation to Revered, Wildhammer to Exalted. Did all the Darkmoon Faire monthly quests. Started focusing on the Firelands dailies for the tokens I need to unlock the next parts. Also did the Gurubashi Arena twice; 3 trinkets down, 9 to go to get the achievement!

IRL I got my new computer, but still have to download a whole bunch of stuff (including all my games again).

Wine and snacks Friday night, thank goodness! Hopefully this weekend we can get out for some walks if the weather behaves, maybe another movie.
Friday as written, even more wonderful meals on Saturday & Sunday as my spouse tries some recipes from the Christmas presents. A few walks, but no movie. Spent a lot of the weekend trying to recover my server (DB, Web, CF server), because (damn Seagate) system disk had crashed, but data disk ok.

Not sure what I want to accomplish. I expect I will just bounce around through my alliance toons, and see if there is something I feel like doing, besides managing the mailbox. I also have my 57 horde druid and 58 BE DK that could use some attention, maybe I might try to push one of them to 60 and pick up flying.
Had to spend time managing the mailbox, but did find some time to get Diggerest on my 85 human alchemist warrior, and pushed my 58 BE DK just short of 59. That was enough.

WoW: If I have time, I'm going to level some alts. The focus is going to be setting them up to help out other characters, so I'm just planning on soloing and making money (gathering professions). At least I know which ones!

Real Life: Paying job work, student teacher work, housework, and errands. I'm also planning to work for an hour on one of my novels Saturday night. I guess that counts as "fun work that might become paying someday."

Well, I stayed up too late Friday night, so I completely crashed Saturday, and have been to bed at about 8:30pm ever since. This is not normal. Plus, everyone else in my family is sick with a cold, so I'm hoping I don't get it.

I didn't get to any of my personal goals, but I have updated a bunch of add-ons. Did the paying work, student teacher work, some of the housework, and the errands, though.

Once I'm more used to the schedule, I hope I'll do better.

The "fun" of Argent Tournament is on the level of the left shoe cure for a headache. You know, hit yourself repeatedly over the head with your left shoe ... it feels so good when you finally stop!

Back in WotLK it was still a grind, but it was part of the end game of the time. If you started as early as possible, the dailies helped you level a bit faster, you filled out reputation with the various cities, you filled in some gear and you eventually got frills like pets and mounts. Now, time spent grinding for those things will still get a few achievements, pets and mounts but it might be better spent in Firelands and Tol Barad where you can get similar things while edging your iLevel up a bit.

Once again, I thank you for the advice. A quick visit to the JP vendor and a somewhat longer shopping trip with the auctioneers (*)netter me a gain of almost thirty points and got me up to where I an star playing in the good dungeons.

(*) Not to mention a godly drawdown of my cash reserves. Shouldn't really matter, though, I already have all my licenses and such. May have to schedule a couple more hide hunting safaris

Awww, you got hosed in the AH?
I lucked into a BoE 378 piece for 200ish gold, was worth it over the points since it allowed me to buy 2 other pieces with the points I had and I already made that gold back in auctions from some northrend soloing of dungeons on another character :) But it was only that one piece for the one character, the equivalent piece in other armor types pretty well had another 0 on the end of the purchase price so I might have lucked into a typo. Finding those justice points having a use to actually catch me up for runs gear wise... well now I might actually get to get some experience with the guildies when they just need to fill a spot! All for looking at what my characters had...

To bring this back on topic I dont' remember if I posted my plan to make a Turkey on Sunday (didn't at Thanksgiving in October and Christmas I couldn't handle the bird, so has been a lean year for poultry...) which of course I failed to do more than to set it out... now it's 3 am on Tuesday morning and I'm just waiting for the bird to cool off enough to be carved... teach me to start cooking it so late in the day. 5 hours later than I'm generally in bed. Oh well it gave me bonus wow time tonight, only 10 bars to 85 for the druid.

I know what you mean. I've barely even played WoW, much less come up with goals, since getting that game. Well, that and Pathfinder.

No big, just game gold. Couple of hour long jaunts through Mt. Hyjal and Northrend should earn it all back, The main compensation is that now I can start competing for the primo goodies, and those I don't want I can DE, which will give me the mats I need to break my enchanting off its current 510 plateau.

Looks like the furbeasties may not be safe around me for a while, though. Now if they'd only let me skin some of the furry humanoids........

Wouldn't every game heroine just love having a lush, fluffy panda coat?

Well, at dinner last night #3 daughter had pictures of a new guy she met and a five month old panda. I told her that while the guy seemed OK, if she had a choice she should keep the panda instead. Panda coats? I've seen a couple, but for a while panda hats seemed to be all the rage among young college women here.

As far as game heroines go, Tansey (Draenei DK) is holding out for naga skins. We use randomly harvested naga scales for tailoring and the goblin starter area has us gather naga skins, but somehow even with maxed skinning Tansey is denied the opportunity to skin the hordes of naga she has slain. Olwen (Nelf Druid) is against the idea because collecting interesting ursine hides is against her best interests.

You know that IS interesting. You can skin a shark, so why not a naga? I've often wondered, though - if I kill a druid in his/her beast form, shouldn't I get to skin him/her. I mean, it only seem fair....
