Shipwreck debris........Follow

If anyone didn't know already: The shipwreck debris around Darkmoon island is a goldmine for embersilk cloth, heavy savage leather and various minor potions and flasks. I caught a forum post somewhere about those nodes, but paid it no heed until tongiht after a raid session when I was bored.

In 30 mins of fishing nodes, I had 240 embersilk coth, 10 heavy savage leather, 10 mana pots, 8 health pots, 35 obsidian ore, 4 pyrite ore, 10 elementium ore, a ton of darkmoon firewater (which is 450 AP and size boost for 20 mins), 8 random minor cata flasks and about 20 different types of food and drink.

There seems to be roughly 5 or 6 nodes around the island any given time and they respawn fast, before you make it back around; barring other fisherman of course. Each node gives you 1 to 2 boxes. Each box had 10 - 18 silk and then the various stuff I listed. Tonight there was only 3 of us farming at peek time, so it's not a hugely known thing right now. Part of me wonders if it's a bug? I was also in a raid group that was left over that I never manually left; though I doubt that had anything to do with it. All said: I made 2k+ gold on all the stuff from 30mins of fishing. It would be a tailors heaven; or someone leveling bandages woudl save a lot of gold. And the 10 heavy savage is a lot of normal savage you wouldn't have to farm.

Figured I'd throw that out there for any tailors in need of pts and cloth, or people wasting money on first aid.

Ignore typos, tired and lazy.

Just to add to your observations:

Shipwreck debris can be fished at a skill level of 1. Hit the pool, don't blow the catch, you get a box. I've had toons without fishing buy the skill there at the faire, then hit a pool and grab a box on the first cast. Don't like to fish up junk? This is the place to fish, I've had relatively little trash even with a low fishing skill, a normal pole and a basic lure; I also seem to get oily black mouth and firefin snapper rather regularly.

If it is a bug, it is working the same way on Chinese servers. Your numbers look fairly similar to what I get and I'm not in raid groups.

On my server, the pools are pretty popular, particularly with the subset of players whose name is something like Xlmbpqndbblll. I'm happy to say that those using obvious speed hacks seem to have vanished, the current GMs seem to be good with the ban stick. [I report a couple of spammers an hour; if I'm not fast the toon is already history.]

Check behind the islands off the coast, particularly if you're working counterclockwise from the dock (where competition may be slightly less). Things like Path of Frost are a boon, but you can do OK just swimming along.

Did this for a bit today; three or four loops around, got around 180 embersilk, 30 obsidian ore, lots of firewater, and a piddling amount of heavy savage and pyrite. Not bad, but there was competition and one of my loops was almost completely devoid of pools.

Did let me level my first aid from 480 to 525, though Smiley: grin Thanks for the tip!

It was clearly a community service among friends so that my hardworking (you gotta catch a LOT of fish to get fro 475 to 530) hunter could cash n on the bonanza.

didn't get any fabric, though, but several nice crates of rare ore. The fish were good, though I know a place where oily blackmouth and firefin snapper come even faster. The local inhabitants are an ugly set, but low enough level tat I just set my T-rex or Bear to watch my back and take care of any locals that get ambitious so I can fish.

Seriously, though, thanks for the info tonight.

I knew it, I knew it. Smiley: lol

There were 3x as many people making the circle around the island tonite, looking for pools. Even funnier, half of them didn't have water-walking pots and were jumping their way around. Got about 5 stacks of embersilk, 4 stacks of ores, and a bunch of herbs in about an hour on my mage, plus all the other carnival food junk. Not bad at all.

I'm beginning to think there's more to these pools than even what I orignally posted; even Blizzard made a comment about the mysteries that surround the island, blah, blah, before it was released.

At 8am server time I hit up the island, did a /who and only one Horde. Started my circles and not a single node and I didn't pass a single person fishing as I expected to see a couple Alliance. I did four circles before giving up and starting my daily grind. Logged, came back and tried between 10 am and 11am and there were nodes and one other fisherman that I could tell anyway. Not a single silk, but instead, I ended up with 30 heavy savage, no pots, no flasks and a couple obsid ore, firewater and food like normal. Tonight around the same time as last night, same deal, mostly embersilk with some heavy savage, flasks, pots, ore and food.

I talked with a friend on a PvP server and he said same thing: Sometimes it's heavy on the silk, and other times it's none at all, but will be heavy on ore or heavy on heavy savage. No one I know could confirm if they couldn't find nodes at all though around 8am (give or take) server time.

I don't play enough to come up with a time schedule on best times for savage, ore or silk, but would be cool to figure something out come next months faire.

That's pretty interesting. As said, I found primarily embersilk. After doing this some more, I had maybe 10-12 stacks of it, 3 stacks of obsidium ore, and less than half a stack of any other ore or leather. Tons of carny food, and 3-4 stacks of firewater. But some other people seem to have found a ton of ore. It would be cool if it changed.

I got a little bit of silk, ore, and heavy savage on my one trip around the island. Mostly ore though.
