My First Jin'Do kill.Follow

So I decided to try a couple Random Heroics, as one of my characters was close to buying able to finally replace the 333 rep legs from Vashj'ir (Prot Paladin).

First, I got Deadmines, which went pretty much without a hitch, 'cept a near-wipe on Cookie. Healer wasn't quite good enough to handle all of the damage.

Then we got BRC... again, two wipes on Corla, dropped group.

Then I got ZG and I was like "OMG....First Corla, now THIS?"

It was a run in-progress, with only Zanzil, the Cache, and Jin'do left. We wipe once in Zanzil, and manage to kill him (barely) on the second try.

Then, Jin'do...

We sat there staring him down for a good 10 minutes while we talked about the fight, and then we got to it.

I had trouble trying to get Jin'do out of the shield but yet stay in the shield myself, but we managed to get through Phase 1 with no deaths. A couple close calls on my part while I was trying to keep him out of the shield, but it went OK.

Then Phase 2 comes, the DPS have a little trouble keeping the ghosts killed off and at first I didn't get what was meant by 'get a troll' but after following a warrior over, I saw the spirit trolls standing there, and I was like "OOOH", lol.

We eventually get onto how to get him to body slam the chains (it takes a couple trolls).

About Chain #2 being down, the healer dies and I'm going down fast because we're trying to get Chain #3 started. But I notice the healer is alive again! That's right, we have a Druid in the group, forgot about that. Then I look at my health and I see a little sliver... Lay on Hands! Now I'm ready.

It takes another troll to get him to body slam the last chain, and two of the 3 DPS are now dead, Chain is at 50%... the chain is down, healer is OOM, and the last DPS drops dead just as the chain has about 100k left.

Shield Slam for 45k crit, a couple Crusader Strikes and next thing I know, the achievement pops up on the screen. I wasn't expecting the boss to die as soon as the last chain was down, I thought we had to finish him off after the last chain or something.

Yaaay.

Also won the healer shield by a greed roll and now I got a nice transmog shield, looks unique.

All in all, everything went better than expected. Two days of the holiday daily will give me the legs.

That was a fun fight, it played more like a raid style boss with all of the running, grabbing a troll, handling the ghost adds, etc even though it was only a 5man boss. And now that I know how to do it, I'll know for future times.

And finally getting my Lashtail Hatchling was nice too. Stupid Mandokir anyways. lol.

See, this is what happens when people take the time to talk about a boss and make sure people who have never seen it before know the fight. You get success stories like this.

Congrats!

If only all of my Random Heroic groups would go like that, I would do Heroics all the time.

When I had to wait out my 5 minute lag from my SamKnows router testing, they didn't seem to mind. "Brb Bio" and such was what they said when I explained about the massive lag I get at the top of every odd hour (1, 3, 5, 7, etc) for 5 minutes while it runs tests on my ISP.

Also, they took the time to explain bosses, didn't complain (one DPS dropped group) when we wiped at Zanzil, etc.

I wish everyone could be like that.

We'd have so much more fun.

Just a little pointer - You don't have to actually stay in the shield until he starts casting that one spell (can't remember the name), then you need to get in. So you have plenty of time to kite him out, turn around and go back in yourself. =)

But awesome that you managed to get a patient group and managed to see those fights and get your achieve! =D

When I first started tanking the Jindo fight I tried pulling the trolls as fast as I could hoping to outrun the spirits.

Later a healer explained to me that if I slowed down and only pulled one once a chain was down it would slow down the spirits spawning. I've done it that way ever since and my groups success rate at this fight on the first try has gone way up.

From my experience the best way to position Jindo is to Strafe out of the bubble then do a sharp turn and back yourself in. Kinda makes a large 7. When you're backing up take little baby steps until you get both debuffs displaying then stop. If you back in too far you can give Jindo the same protection. This is only a concern if you have a caster dps group. If its all melee then by all means drag him in.

Congrats! I have been pulling my hair out trying to get better, and geared for these Troll Instances. If you go into these without appropriate DPS... you are basically screwed.

UPDATE: Got into an End Time Heroic unexpectedly, randomly Q'ing up. I'm tanking, as usual.

I didn't think I was Really ready for it yet, but the group seemed half-decent and knowledgable, though it started off with a very rocky start -- we had a rogue that was running around picking up fragments and other people were following him and nobody explained anything, we got aggro and a couple of us died.

Once all of the fragments were collected, we started pulling trash and the run went a lot smoother from there. The trash wasn't that hard, and the bosses were Jaina and Baine (are the bosses random in this dungeon?).

I asked them to explain the fights; they told me to just tank n spank Jaina and avoid her ground claw-like attacks. Easy enough. She goes down whimpering like a schoolgirl (doesn't she always?). Then we move onto Baine, and everyone wants to avoid Trash... seriously, guys? Would it be THAT bad to kill a few trash mobs so that people don't die of aggro? Oh well. Everyone makes it to the boss OK, they tell me to tank n spank him, and keep him out of the lava. Easy enough. Well, I thought it would be. He seems to like standing in the lava even though I'm trying to get him to come over to me.

We kill him, though we had a couple close calls.

Then, Mr. Nozdormu.. or shall I say Murozond... they told me to "Tank and spank and blow cooldowns whenever available"... okay.

It was a little hairy, at some points he was hitting me uncomfortably hard between my cooldowns, but the DPS apparently knew when to use the hourglass and my cooldowns were available right when I thought I was going to die. We managed to kill him.

So that was cool, another dungeon under my belt. DPS gloves dropped and I was one of two plate in the group, won them by greed roll. They were better than the gloves I had (DPS gloves from Twilight Highlands Rep reward) so I stuck em on, enchanted/gemmed/reforged em, and finishing the dungeon got me enough JP to buy the 378 pants.

I would still like to get another 378 piece or two before going back to those new 5-mans, but I suppose if I get lucky and get a good group, they're do-able with some moderate pain involved...

The trash on Baine reminds me of the gantlet after Ick/Krick. Painful at best and dangerous at worst, but trying to avoid it is an almost guaranteed wipe in a PuG. If you're in a group with people you trust and who are communicating, there's a fair chance you'd evade them successfully - but that's exactly the group that needs to avoid them the least. :/

We avoided them on the way in, and on the way out, one person got killed. The rest made it alive, and I was surprised... they were just probably good at MGS. lol.

Yes, the first two bosses in that dungeon are random between Jaina, Baine, Sylvanas, and Tyrande. The last boss will always be Murozond.

On the way out of Baine's area, click the dungeon eye and teleport out, then back in.
