Someone in my guild posted this, and I figured I'd share it with you all since I know I'm not the only one annoyed by this bug.

I get a runtime error when I click on it. #$#%!!!

But thanks for sharing Pigtails. Smiley: grin

As a quasi-related note, was anyone else surprised just how much of trade chat gets filtered out? I hadn't had the filter on in ages, all of a sudden every other line is "looking for #$%&ing @#$% in your !%^###" and such. Smiley: rolleyes

I haven't been in Trade since '09, I don't think.

I have a separate window exclusively for trade chat, so I can see what's going on, but it doesn't spam my main chat window, and I can ignore it quite easily since it's on the opposite side of the screen. I fully admit to copying the idea from Tukui. And yes, it's goofy what words are filtered and what words aren't. I've noticed that **** is filtered, but damn is not.

I thought this GM was trolling me when they told me this fix -

Howdy Debraworgen!

Thank you for contacting the Game Master Department. Looks like we missed each other but I've included this little message to help you out :) If doesn't address all of your issues, just hit the 'need more help' button and we'll get back to you as soon as possible!

There's actually a bug right now with the mature language filter that prevents it from remaining off. To work around this, disable the mature language filter and then hit Alt+F4. That will keep it on :) Sorry for any inconvenience!

Just so you know, if you still need further help, then click the "Need More Help" button. If you have no further issues at this time, you can press the "Message Read" button, which will close your petition.

We hope you continue to enjoy your experience in World of Warcraft!

Regards,

But it does actually work. Think I could convince trade chat of that? Hahaha

Yeah... considering I don't recognize your name I'm not trusting you with that. I'm not stupid, I know what Alt+F4 does.

:D That was the reaction I got in game too. Except, I wouldn't know if you tried it or not. So I couldn't go "Haaa got ya, sucker".

If I was really trolling, I would have to tell people in game, watch for someone suddenly go offline and then go "ha ha, I got you". The payoff just doesn't seem worth the lulz.

Anyway, it does work. Try it or don't, I am just offering free information from the GM.

For me - it worked. I don't know how WoW system files and stuff work, but when I logged back in, the filter was still off.

Nevermind, I got myself confused. I was thinking Alt F4 was the one that turned your computer off, not just closed the current window/program. My mistake.

I actually tried the "disable the filter, then alt+f4" trick (and yes, I knew full well about alt+f4)....so far it seems to have actually worked, at least for my first log-on after doing it.

Edit: Well, nuts to that. I logged off for an extended period and just recently back on. The filter has been re-enabled on some toons and not others. Thanks for the suggestion though, it was at least worth a try while I was bored!
