The Battlechest and the other 2 expansions for only $35.

That's the cheapest I've ever seen for the entire game. Shop now and save, haha.

I'm a bit surprised they're dropping all the way down to $50. But it is the holiday season, so this will probably boost subscriptions for a little bit.

Thanks much for the link, I've been wanting to get a friend up and running and this might let me do it on the cheap getting them "caught up"... or even if I just get another account for myself if they really don't want to... price for everything up to now $50... less than the expansion itself a year ago. I like it...

I once tried to give ex Ms Horsemouth the gift of WOW.

She was not pleased and told me to never try that again.

I might be preemptively derailing the thread, idk.

I've never had to deal with them so I don't know if they'd do what stores do, but have you tried seeing if they'd honor the price change? I know with some stores, they'll honor a price change on an item if you JUST bought it and then it went on sale. Like I said, I don't know how Blizzard operates under those condition, but it may not hurt to ask.

No bargain in Europe. Not even including any actual game time, they want roughly 60 Euros ($80) for the game chest and the 2 expansions.

That's more than for most current games, for something that is all focused on playing at max level - and has just seen it's very last content patch for that.

Apparently they're quite content with current subscription numbers in Europe...

There are far better options if you want to make a software gift. I'd be seriously pissed if someone would waste that amount of money for me on this. I#d rather have a tie or sweater.

It's worth noting that laws vary a lot from country to country, so there may be a legal reason Blizzard can't offer the special price in Europe. Or, there might just be a delay in translating the information into 12 different languages but EU and other regions.

I freaking LOVED that commercial. I saw a lot of haters on the O-boards though saying it was crap.

I loved it too, I thought it was hilarious.

You can give the gift of WoW, or you can be a selfish **** and use this opportunity to dual box with RAF for cheap. If I had the money, I'd totally do that. >.<

No, it's greed. Blizzard Europe is a regional thing that doesn't necessarily have anything to do with the EU. Regular Amazon prices are lower than what Blizzard now considers a sale, and that even includes taxes.

They DID cut off 30% of they old price, but that's something all retailers did a long time ago. This just isn't a special Christmas sale, but instead something that was long overdue.

No "sale" on pet or mount either.

I could take the 60EUR and buy someone SWTOR from Amazon - and still have 6 bucks to spare on a case of beer for myself to enjoy.

What's the US definition of a 'case'? Over here, a case is 30 bottles, which normally costs $18 on sale.

A case is 30 unless you are buying a bottles.

A case of domestic beer here ranges from about $15-$24 depending on what your'e buying. With some imported beer being more expensive if you happen to find a liqour store that actually sells it by the case.

No need to go that far. All you gotta do is a weekend trip down south. A case of Sternburg (20 x 0,5l) does in fact range between 6 and 8 EUR depending on where you buy it. Despite the low price, that stuff is actually quite good. Just need to buy Export rather than Pils.

This stuff is legendary, and one of the few true success stories of former East German products.

6-8 Euro is still only $8-$10 U.S. I wish I could buy a decent beer for that price.

In the U.S. they have 18, 24, and 30 pack cases. But my local store sells 24oz. cans and I get 2 for $4.31..which is just over a buck a beer and I'm very happy with paying that.
