Has anyone else noticed - Queue times are all Messed up?Follow

The queue times are good - I'm waiting about 10 mins for a DPS,about 30 seconds for a tank and about 3 mins as a healer.

But has anyone noticed that the Estimated Time vs Actual is WAY off?

For example - As a tank or heals - it's a moot point - the group comes so fast it is a non-issue.

But I have repeatedly entered the DPS Queue and gotten 5 mins.... Then proceeeded to wait 10-15 minutes. I don't mind waiting 10-15... Heck even 20 is ok. But for whatever reason it seems like i'm getting very short indicated queue times, but actually waiting anywhere from 2-3 times the QUEUE time....

While this isn't a terrible issue - it is a bit of a problem.... Anyone else notice that as a DPS - the queue time is dramatically inaccurate from the estimate????

I've always found it to be way off.

It's nothing more than a best guess estimate based on how fast those queuing for your role are getting groups. It WILL be skewed by groups of 3 dps and a tank or healer signing up just needing that one other role filled, it'll be affected when a tank and healer join with a dps and you're in the queue waiting with 3 of you as dps.

Just because 9/10 people prefer ... err.. get their queue in X amount of time doesn't mean the 10th one will get that time right ;)

My guess is its about the same. I just think that with so many people and servers, the randomness of the system occasionally gives the appearance of a pattern. I've had some episodes where the invitation came almost as soon as I entered the random queue, others where I waited half an hour or more for a request for the same dungeon.

With so many players, i don't see how it could be anything other than random.

Queues have been pretty reliable until this patch. That is to say pop has come +/- a few mins of what it says most fo the time.

But today, sheesh, the estimated time spiked upto 2 hrs as dps. It actually only took like 10-15 mins. I started thinking it may have been due to the variance in pug classes, as I recall somewhere that the dungeon finder makes some effort to build groups with multiple armor types.

And, in my case, it wouldnt surprise me how many druids would be in queue relative to other classes.

I'm not sure what it is. The total time waited isn't bad - even as a DPS it's roughly 15 minutes, but the Estimates and Actuals are way off.

It estimated 6 minutes yesterday, and right below that the actual was at 17.

Weird..?

I've noticed when I queue for a BG it will give me an estimate of 2-6 hours. Usually get in within 5-6 minutes though. For the LFD it seems to take however long I have been in queue and add two minutes until I finally get a group.

Something like that.

The worst for me will be mid level battlegrounds (think like 30s, 40s, 50s) or during off hours; where I imagine things are a bit less predictable. The heals queue is fast and the BG queue pretty much instant at higher levels, so I can't say I've noticed anything abnormal there. Smiley: frown

Then you have people like my wife last night who queue as DPS and then realize when the queue pops that they're out of time and decline the invitation. Smiley: lol

Oh I've done that one protein... forget I'd even queued up because it took so long for it to pop. Then be all like, wtf who just invited me... oh ... OH... nuts, no time, decline and probably log in frustration :P

Aww, no I just feel sorry for the other two DPS who thought they were finally able to get into the dungeon, only to have it yanked away.

Worse though had to be a few of my old guildies. They'd put themselves in the queue with 4, instead of trying to pug an additional DPS on the server. What's wrong with that? Well some poor random guy gets an instance after a 40 minute queue only to be told that the hunter is pet-tanking. Smiley: rolleyes

Last night I queued up with the LFR and went to go get something and got distracted for about a half hour. When I came back I found myself in the raid sitting AFK with the first boss about 20% down.

Mine logs me out if I go away for half an hour.

There's no ready check when you queue in the LFR? I thought there'd be the usual "You there?" accept thingy when the queue pops.

There is. I'm not sure what happened with Xina's though.

My dps queue is always shorter than my tanks in LFR and heals is instant. What is this world coming to when a tank can't insta queue.
